Jambro
Got a few electrical issues with my GTi..First is the fuel pump doesn't prime when I open the driver's door. I think this is causing it to splutter a little when starting.Next is the driver's electric window doesn't work. I've swapped around the switches and the switches are definitely all OK. I can hear the motor (or something) clicking but it doesn't want to move. And finally the central locking behaves a little strangely. It locks itself really quickly after unlocking even with a door open. So the alarm goes off before I've finished putting stuff in the boot! Also got to be really close to the car for the central locking to work (tried changing the fob battery but no better).I'm guess all the issues may be related?Oh and not really an electrical fault, but the door pins aren't high enough. So when the car is unlocked only half the pins are out of the rosette and when the car is locked the pins are all the way inside the hole!Any help appreciatedEDIT: and the warning light doesn't come on if the boot lid is left open. Defcon5
with the fuel pump it sounds like the micro switch in the drivers door isnt working
Lupopo
That could also cause the locking/alarm issue
Jambro
I'll change the driver door micro switch first then. Hopefully that'll get the fuel pump priming properly. Is it likely that the boot one has failed too?
Lupopo
no, it means the car still thinks the door is closed so auto locks, i think
