steved
Right ive just got back on the Arosa after finishing the race car and found the fault with the starting, the crank sensor wire has been cut clean off (well almost just a small rubber section holding it on ) at the gearbox end i'll try to get a photo tomorrow.Yep comfirmed the sensor was broken, the sensor removed looked old so cant see it was ever replaced, from what i can see the sensors sit at a funny angle and if not installed correctly the wire will rub on the inner edge of the flywheel. If anyone wants to atempt this job you need to.........Disconect the battery..remove the inlet manifold / push as far back to the bulk head as you canUnbolt the EGR metal pipeUnbolt the coolant housing on the side of the headRemove the plastic water pipe running behind the blockUnbolt the starter and move back slightlythen you will be able to remove the sensor.Refit then clear all fault codes with Vagcom... steved
as you can see the water pipe needs to be removed along with the starter.
