I have a couple of Alpine Speakers that I have taken out of my old mk2 GTi golf and before I go poking around I thought I would ask the question. JWB's Lupo Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 9, 2012 So if the Lupo has 165mm speakers in the front - Does that mean I need to buy 6.5" Front speakers?Are these the same size as the Mark 3 Golf Fronts out of interest? RobG Posted January 9, 2012 Report Share Posted January 9, 2012 You'll more than likely need an adapter ring anyway, so the back of the speaker clears the window when it's wound down. The standard speakers have a plastic collar built around them that brings them forward out of the door, but this is removed when you drill out the rivets holding the speakers in.
