I believe to put g60's on yours you'd have yo change the hubs to fit the carriers. Have you looked at EBC Green Stuff pads and maybe brembo discs. That should supply a better set up than what your running atm.

Hey thank you for your reply after doing some research it looks easier to buy performance disc's than to change the hub ive seen some brake disc's which are 239mm x 10mm solid or 239mm x 18mm vented, i currently have standard solid disc's and calipers do i need to change the caliper to have the vented disc's?

these are the solid ones:

Ventilated discs need new calipers. £££££.

There's a cheaper way of getting improved braking performance. Just change the front disc pads for Ferodo or Mintex.

Both brands offer a better and more progressive pedal feel and less brake fade.

Anything else is going to cost you a lot more money, and is it really worth it on a 9 year old 1.0 litre car?

ah! ok solid disc's it is then! its just my discs need to be changed so i thought i might as well as spend a little more money on better disc's than standard ones, so to do the whole thing i need to get new disc's and new pads

the pads i would get

and these disc's

thank you for your help

mate unless you shave down the pads to the point there are none left, you cant just add 8mm to a brake disc. the only option other than using the CORRECT size of disc but an "uprated" version, is to do what i done on my old arosa's and presently doing on Miss OLW's car and that is to fit 256x20 Sport/ TDi front brakes or to fit the 256x25 GTi gear. but to do this you need to change your hubs, calipers, carriers discs and pads.

in short, you aint going to get F1 braking on discs the size of milk bottle tops....

Looks like a good call on the pads - the Ferodo ones I recommended cost nearly three times as much. :shades:

But do you really need new discs? Unless the old ones are badly scored, they should be fine. You can always take them to a machine shop and have them lightly skimmed for £20 or less. There seems to be a fashion for treating discs as something you replace every time you change pads, but they should last for two or three sets of pads at least.
