clashcityrocker Posted September 13, 2011 Report Share Posted September 13, 2011 hi all,just brought a gti (sweeet!) but i am finding it hard to get into 4th,will go in with a good hard shove but most of the time it doesnt go in,no noise though just jumps up the revs.all other gears are totally fine, and there is no crunching when i try 4th,and as i said it will go in when i push it in fasthelp much appreciated!!!!!!!!!thanks si Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I took fork selector rod out by mistake, realised half way through, couldnt get back in so spent rest of day droping gearbox out of car. I had to professionaly totaly rebuilt and then I put it back in. Car was struggling to get into 3rd I think so was going to change oil, probally needed a rebuild anyway is my excuess.
