Defcon5
Sorry, do you mean you want a singe 3-way adjustable front shock, or several of them? Why do you keep having to replace the same one? What make/model are you using? You cant just change one, the handling will be all over the shop
joh898
My garage told me i needed to replace the front near side shock, and the ride is very rough at the moment. he said it doesn't matter what type as long as it's adjustable? I've just discovered that mine are FK's.... Im not a mechanic so im not sure what i need but that's what he told me.So.... if you think i need the same perhaps i do? anyone got any experience in replacing front shock with different one? I'd appropriate your thoughts! Thanks.JoPS - I drive down lots of lanes and encounter lots of pot holes.
Defcon5
Different manufacturers use different spring/damping values, so they wont match (I would even advise against getting a single one of the same make, as a new unit and a worn unit will be different)Try and find some standard suspension (normally goes for about £50/60), coilovers really arent cut out for crap roads Edited May 4, 2011 by Defcon5
joh898
Thanks for your advice but the other 3 have always been fine, and i have had them on there for 5 years. Its just the near side.
