GTi Si
Hi,Does anyone one know where the alternator comes into the engine bay, the route it takes and where it is fused?I think it comes in on the passenger side grommit, runs along the passenger side wing and up into the fuse box by the jump start connection. The runs under and along the front of the engine then up to the alternator. Is this correct?ThanksS
tshirt2k
What are you tryin to do? It connects to the battery. and if i'm correct it runs along the passenger side floor. not sure where it goes then.
tdwindustries
It depends on when your GTI was made. Some have a SMART alternator that varies the charge rate, others dont. So depending on what you have the wiring will vary - mine is a SMART (very early GTI) and it follows the path you have said, roughly. The area where the battery should be has a small black box - this houses the fuses (on mine anyway).
