I never bothered to put a build thread on here but i have some spare time so i thought why not Here was the lupo when i bought it.Then i got started with the subtle mods. Removing bump strips.Then that stripe remover came out, got it off ebay and just put it on the end of a drill, works a wonder like. garrigle Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 23, 2011 Well that side was easy, on to the next side wasnt such a walk in the park, turns out the passenger bumpstrip just didnt wanna leave! took a handful o paint with him... 'lovely person'Looks like a trip down to Kar and Karting for paint. luckily they had the perfect match for my car So i masked off an area 'too big tho...' and sanded down and slapped on the primer.Hope it turns out ok... Im not the best spray painter like...It was dreadful lol. luckily it only stayed like this for a while, its all sorted now i assure you. garrigle Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 Right so i also chopped the headrests down to sit flush even tho i later on found out that the rear ones sit flush in the front seats, oh well haha I also de-wipered the back which i think is always a great mod that looks mint. I then took off my back badge and got it sprayed ready to replace the front one, thought this was a good idea at the time but now i look back it wasnt haha, All done in one saturday so i think it was a good job haha Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
garrigle Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 Right then, seeing as i have all this spare time on my hands and i am on a roll i decided to do a few more little mods So i started with spraying the air-box, got my good friend SPOORSY who i was made to mention to help me First we took off the air-box.Then started cleaning it and keying it up ready for spraying.Then came trusty wilkinsons own paint, just right for the job and a bargainFirst coat of primer and white primer applied, starting to look better i think. We gave it a good two coats of primer and another two of white primer.Whilst waiting for them to dry thought we'd have a tootle down to halfrauds in SPOORSY's lupo I was feeling a bit naughty so i got myself a pipercross air feed to make my car a little raspier. will get a panel filter to match soon enough. garrigle Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 Drilled a sneaky hole in the plastics behind grill so it will work well but be nice and discreet at the same time. Also drilled airbox whilst waiting for paint to dry. Now all coated in a lovely gloss white we finished it with a clear gloss. Heres the pics before we put it back together, SPOORSY decided to spray his badge at same time so i thought why not After gettin some scran and waiting for it to be touch dry we started putting it all back together. garrigle Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 This is the photoshop of how i want my car too look well today i got my wing mirrors sprayed gloss white as they looked mint in the photoshop. didn't realise how easy they came off. so got them all keyed with wet and dry ready for priming.sed my old side skirts to hold them off ready to spray aha, never waste a thingThen this is what they look like on the car, i think spoorsy lost his touch a bit after leaving a THUMBPRINT in one of the mirrors but oh well i will do them again when i get it sorted for spraying the roof, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

garrigle Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 26, 2011 Having my plate that low took its toll in the snow like. :s oh well haha So i got a new one Bought some massive 25mm spacers for the back, looks mint but i think im going to need to roll my arches before i use them full time. This is how it looked anyhow.Yeah there is some paint coming off on the back that i cant seem to do anything about... need a big sticker to cover it Then i purchased myself a set of these beauts look really good on it i think but i wanna polish them and leave the tears gloss black. shame it has no centre caps but the VW badge fitted in the middle which i think looks cool.And this is how it looks now totally up to date on my car now Painted mirrors black to match wheels.Then for the spare wheels i thought i didnt wanna just do them black so i did this.
