lillian the looop
Hi,just had my local garage confirm my gearbox is on its last legs today and is going to need replacing, so now i am on the lookout for a replacement gearbox.I just have a few questions if anyone can answer them?my gearbox code is FHX and engine code is AUB, are there any other codes that are compatible for the lupo e.g. a polo? if i do buy a used gearbox what sort of price range is reasonable and what is the maximum mileage you would say is safe on one? mine has done 94,000 miles.is there anyone on here selling one?my car is a 2002 lupo sport 1.4 16valve Thanks for reading Jamie
Mitchell
gearboxes are a minefield tbh, second hand is always a risk as they really can go at any point. reconditioned exchange units the best bet.
