Defcon5
The OIL text on the mileage display is just the service indicator, so its been a year/10k since it was last reset.Oil light is a problem - means your oil pressure was too low. Was the dipstick on properly? Any other issues, noises etc. Is there enough oil in it, when was it last serviced?
TR3V0R
not sure about the dip stick but there no noises. The oil was topped up when i got the car (few weeks ago) and ill have to check when it was last serviced. Thanks for the help
Defcon5
Is the light still on?Could just be a broken oil pressure sensor, but dont just assume that as if the pressure really is at a critical level it will damage your engine
TR3V0R
Got it checked out by a mate, turns out the breather hose is frozen over
Mitchell
i suggested this in another thread the other day, crank case breathers seem to like freezing the pipe and block causing the dip stick to vent
