annoying knocking noise

hi all,

i have a lowered tdi, its pretty low, and theres an annoying knocking noise from the passenger side. had a look under car at work the other day and it looks like the anti-roll bar is catching slightly on the floor of the car (theres an area where the paint has been scrubbed off by it)

i was wonderng if anyone else has had a problem similar to this, and what might solve it as it does my head in!

Cheers all

The ARB wont make a knocking noise.

The knocking is likely to be the driveshaft on the chassis leg.

This is the big thick shaft coming from the gearbox.

Best way to look is to park your car on full look and have a look in under the arch and see

how close the drive shaft is to the chassis leg.

As Jowey says it's normaly the driveshaft, but the drivers side one causes the

problem first.

You may well be right about the roll bar, my TDi did the same. I fixed the problem

with the help of a big bar and an even bigger hammer, then proceded to adjust the

floor for slightly more clearence. Hope this helps.

Will let u guys know how it goes,

Cheers again!

I've never known the ARB to make a knocking noise.

Then both of my Arosa's were silyl low and the ARB was just crushed into the body lol

Maybe yours has just enough movment to make a knocking noise
