Its Dead!!!!! :o( HELLLLLPPPPPP!!!!

Recommended Posts

Just got into the car to go to uni put the key in and everything seems fine...all the check lights come on as usual but then when i turn the key the display dies (i.e number of miles etc dissapears off digi display) and nothing happens. Then when i turn the key back the needles on the rev counter and temp gauge etc just start to wobble and rattle :?

Anyone had any similar problems or know what might be up???

Flat battery. When you try and start the car, the starter motor draws too much power from the battery (even then it still can't get enough to turn), causing all power to be lost to the instrument panel.

When you stop holding the key in the start position, power is restored to the instrument cluster, and it recalibrates itself (which is why you see the needles flicker).

Either that or your starter motor has gone... but I'd guess your battery is low, especially with the alarm playing up.

Yeh cheers snoop it is the battery after all called out VW warranty home assist and he got everything up and running again! And he also reminded me how much of a rare car it is when he told me he'd never seen one before biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
