rh203
As the title says - can I paint directly onto this or do I need to prime on top or strip back the old paint?(sorry, not messed about with calipers much) Cheers
timthetinyhorse
clean the calipers as best you can, rough up the surface with wet and dry, use a high temp resistant primer, paint with caliper or high temp paint, done this with all my cars and it never fails
JaseLupoGTi
My rear calipers paint cracked and fell away so i went out and bought some new caliper paint from halfrauds, i stripped the rears down completely and wire brushed them down with alot of elbow grease, then repainted after cleaning properly, also repainted the fronts as the red was slightly different. The white stuff i believe is a salt build up from getting under the paint and becoming trapped there thus making the problem worse over time, did'nt really care to find out i just wanted rid of it so i could repaint.
