  1. My rear calipers paint cracked and fell away so i went out and bought some new caliper paint from halfrauds, i stripped the rears down completely and wire brushed them down with alot of elbow grease, then repainted after cleaning properly, also repainted the fronts as the red was slightly different. The white stuff i believe is a salt build up from getting under the paint and becoming trapped there thus making the problem worse over time, did'nt really care to find out i just wanted rid of it so i could repaint.
  2. Anyone on here?, silver gti had a black bonnet, thanks for the wave blue gti
  3. With help from my dad and his dremel and abit of elbow grease, my high level brake light has now been replaced at only the cost of a new high level light (40 quid VW), just a note to anyone thinking of doing this, you will have to make the light fit, as i think the design changed, the new design does'nt fit the spoiler, you have to grind down plastic on the left and right of the light with the dremel to get a snug fit, and even then water can still get in as the seal that comes with the light is piss poor, clear silicone is needed to finish off the seal, its now unlikely my spoiler will ever leak again. Unfortunately i did'nt get any pictures at the time, but it is possible to fix the high level quite easily. Jase
  4. Ok my high level brake light does'nt work at all, due to water ingress i understand, phoned veedub hoping for a warrenty claim, no luck with that after a lengthy argument over 'is it part of the bodywork', i know theres a guide to taking the spoiler off and fixing the light, someone point me in the right direction?, gonna have a bash at fixing it if we get some good weather. Thanks
  5. Can't come meet ya for 20 quid fella, it'll cost me 40 quid to come meet you!, have to try and get your paypal sorted.
  6. Well i've never jumped to the stealing conclusion, i would'nt say that about anyone, and all except one message [which you'll find if you click on his profile] were sent directly to his mobile, i have them all still in my phone. Ill try calling him tomorrow see if i can sort an end to this, im not trying to make enemies out of anyone or slate anyone or cause any unneeded stress, i just want this sorting out. Thanks for the replies
  7. Why am i being made the scapegoat here?, its not me who's failed with their end of the bargain, i paid my money straight away and got nothing, 3 months later i have no product or even a refund for my swift payment and good manners on the phone, i have every right to be pissed off, and after 3 months every right to post this on here so dont you go making me out to be the bad guy here, i would'nt have had to even put this post on here had he kept to his end of the bargain, and i appreciate hes dealt with some of you guys before and been fine, but he has'nt with me!, im not wasting my money phoning someone who i should'nt have had to speak to again after the deal was made and funds were paid in full.
  8. We spoke on the phone and arranged a price and how to pay for the item, he said to put address in the paypal payment, this i did and like i said and he sent nothing, why should i take the time to phone him when i have paid and sent my address and expect the item sent within good time, good time is not 2+ months, i appreciate some people have dealt with him fine with no problems but it seems others have had similar problems to me.
  9. Its a nightmare fella's, ive tried to contact so many times, 3/4 of which have had no reply, its not hard to read a message saying 'could you send me a refund of 20 quid to my paypal, thanks' log on the computer and send it, i mean its only 20 quid, but thats not the point, you would'nt just give someone 20 quid in the street would you?
  10. 3 months ago the coweling on my GTi broke after the garage snapped it without telling me, so i though id get onto the club lupo marketplace and get a breakers one to replace it, very quickly i came across a fella breaking a lupo 1.4 called paz, with a phone number, so i gave him a call and we agreed a delivered price, of a paltry 20 quick, i thought this is great, so i paid in full within a few hours on the same sunday afternoon, he requested i pay via paypal and sending the payment as a gift to avoid paypal charges, so i did this, and as i write this it is now nearly 3 months later, 3 weeks ago i went out and bought a brand new one i was that annoyed about waiting so long, ive send numerous messages to him with very few replies, in the end i cancelled him sending it me [ if he ever was going to ] and requested a refund of my 20 quid, 3 weeks later no refund and i can't dispute it because the payment was a gift. A warning going out to everyone on the lupo site, careful using him to buy parts from, i did'nt want to have to write all this but hes left me no choice. a pissed off GTi owner.
  11. I had same problem on my GTi, turned out the welds holding the exhaust up had broken off, like you said, due to rust, very cheap fix, only cost me 15 quid at a local garage, though i do think my rubber will still need replacing, but aint got round to it
  12. Alright fella, still waiting for the wiper tray coweling, its been over a month now, i paid in full immediately the deal was agreed, and over a month later still no product.

  13. Front end damage last night in Halifax, front wheel broken off, in the dark i think it was yellow, but could have been white, anyone on here?
  14. I might be tempted to come down, this was mentioned to me by another member a few days ago, wheres it at? times?
  15. Only 15 quid?!, im asking the wrong questions to veedub then, ill be on the phone to them tomorrow. thanks for the replies dudes
  16. My drivers side door strap is worn out and quite noisey, where can i get just this part from? the whole mechanism is 110 quid from VW, i aint paying that. Thanks Jase
  17. Full service history is always the best thing to see, plus reciepts for work done, mine has a pile of reciepts of services, clutch changes, doors being fixed coz they dropped etc etc. Check the rear spoiler brake light works, water tends to get into them and wrecks the connections, also if it does'nt work check for bubbling around the spoiler, another sign of water getting in, i get whining from reverse gear on full lock, i think most GTi's do this. Jase
  18. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=black+vw+badges&_sacat=See-All-Categories
  19. Hey guys, im baffled by the array of black badges available on ebay, not sure which will fit the lupo, my lupo is red with black wheels and currently painted black badges which are looking rather untidy, looking to replace these with proper painted black ones, which model VW's badges can i use?, front and rear needed. Cheers guys
  20. Ohhh i like, is that from another make of car?, or is it what you can get from halfrauds?
  21. Wish i could, aint been to a meet yet!, im busy tues and wed nights, any other night and i'd be there.
  22. Ah good stuff, when we get some nicer weather i may have to get the spoiler off and try fix the problem, does'nt look good though from the photo's. And yeah i get what you mean about the air pressure inside dude, drives me mad that the doors wont just shut!, anyway cheers for the replies
  23. Well as the title suggest's, my high level brake light has failed, the garage that did my MOT today told me about it, turns out it was'nt an MOT failure, but has anyone else had their high level brake light fail? how much to replace?, or how can it be fixed?, we reckon water ingress was the problem, but had no way of getting in to fix the problem, so its been left, and it pisses me off to know somethings not working Also my doors are a pain in the arse, very clicky and need a right good push or pull to shut them properly, according to the reciepts that came with the car, the doors had to be realigned within 10k miles, is this a common fault?, the drivers door seal at the top does'nt fit as flush as the passenger side either. Cheers Jase
  24. I also was wondering how your going to pass an emissions test with a decat?, can't see it happening to be honest, as for where to get a decat pipe, no idea
  25. I was just crossing the crossroads as you were crossing fella, first time ive seen you round!, heavy snow though was'nt it, had a couple of scary moments going up scar lane in golcar
