foxy Posted May 25, 2010 Report Share Posted May 25, 2010 With Saturday being the hottest day of the year so far my car thought that it would be a good time for the Air Con pack in. Praying that it just needed re-gassed I had that done today and as much as it did indeed need doing the pump is not kicking in either.Ive pulled the plug of and im getting 12v whether its switched on or off and 10v when the engine is off, can anyone shed some light on this and do you know what readings I should be getting. CasperGTI Posted May 26, 2010 Report Share Posted May 26, 2010 The wiring for the aircon is a real head ****! spent ages looking at wiring diagrams for it, never seems to make sence! If you can work it out, then a medal is on your way!If you have 12V there, that should engage the clutch for the pump. Have you had a look at the end of the pump to see if the clutch is engaging with the engine running? If it is then the end plate on the pulley should be spinning. jonnykell1980 Posted May 27, 2010 Report Share Posted May 27, 2010 maybe it has a permanant live it, and has a switching earth? try a continuity check on the other wire to earth, switched on and off, if it does i would say the clutch has failed. But ive just bought one on egay for £19.50, brand genuine part.Lets hope it really does fix the problem, i shall find out when i eventually get the gearbox back in Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
