twisty b-road
What's a thrust bearing in a gearbox?
tshirt2k
Its a bearing on the clutch release arm. Its not "in" the gearbox but you have to take the gearbox off to change it.If its faulty it's usually noisy, Its either noisy when clutch is pressed and stops when released, or the other way round . can't remember. tshirt2k
whats the dealer sayin' or what's the prob?
tdwindustries
its the first option - sounds like a metallic rattle when clutch down (cheers ross style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />) .... you have to take the box out to change it apparently.. mine might be on the way out as I have all the symptons (after nurburgring) but might be solved by just a new clutch
Blackrat
not so sure that you gotta take the box out to replace it, i think you just gotta take the end cap off the end of the box. im pretty sure its the same as a golf box.
