Cruise Control

I'm going to be fitting it either tonight or tomorrow depending on the rain.

For the people that have done this before, what would you say to look out for so everything goes smooth?

1. (white) ECU 46 cruise on/off

2. (Blue) ECU 45 Resume

3. (red) ECU 44 Set

4. (Black) ECU 14 Enable cruise (& connect to ignition 12V for stalk)

Are these numbers etched on the plastic somewhere (44, 45, 46 and 14).

Can I use the pins in the plug instead of buying new ones?

Yep the terminals are numbered, you need to pull out both connector banks, as I think 14 is on one and the rest on the other.

There are plenty of unused pins as all are fitted, so some spare for trial removal.

You'll need to find a 12v ignition feed from somewhere in the car too.

I used the radio switched 12v, others have used the brake switch 12V.

take your time, be gentle with the ECU connector, but it can be stiff to get off.

Jons guide is excellent, study that first.

Wish you luck, specially with the airbag, gave up on mine, two screws just turned without undoing, got a refund

on the stalk, and kept my two toggle switches.

Got it all fitted now. All wired up correctly (fingers crossed).

Now to find someone / buy a cable and pinch a mates lap top / convince the garage where I used to work (if his diagnostic program can do that) / bribe someone a Seat/VW to turn it on.
