Tigz™ Posted May 6, 2009 Report Share Posted May 6, 2009 Yours is a 1.0 yes?Polo GTI engine is pretty straight forward if your car already has electronic throttle?The 1.4s are obviously just as straight forward.You basically gonna need :Engine and gearbox.Complete wiring loom, clocks and ECU if you can (make sure they cut the bulk head from the shell and not the loom from the bulk head!) Electronic GTI throttle body if you have this, or cable throttle body from older Polo GTI if you have cable.Drive shafts are the same.Engine mounts are the same.Most of the wiring is the same, so you could get away with just the engine and box, and pay £1000 - £1500 for an aftermarket ECU supplied, fitted and mapped and stick with your standard loom if you struggle to find a suitable donor car.
