Defcon5
The exhaust on my loop hangs a good few inches below where it should be. I attacked it with a welder this afternoon but the only place it seems to be connected is that rubber ring thing, am I missing something?I saw another GTi with its exhaust in perfect position yesterday and mine looks like its hanging off in comparison Edited April 15, 2008 by Defcon5
Dark
yeah i have had this happen to me, for ages it was perfect then suddenly i noticed it was lower, but i dont know why. it could be from a mount well upfront, as the rear hangers look ok to me. Niche
Sadly you are both wrong. I had the same issue with my Sport being the same exhaust as a GTI.I changed both back box brackets (including the rubbers) for brand new ones and they didn't help one bit.I can now only assume that either the box has started drooping over age or its something to do with the part of the car that holds the brackets. payna
could be a dodgy centre bracket, these can go causing the tail pipes to drop
Dark
what do you mean wrong? the exhaust system has mounts not just on the rear section but further up towards the front aswell, as far as the cat converter. this will effect the hang of the tailpipes. but it may not be the actual reason.
