Dark
today i fitted my new splitfire twincore HT leads and new replacement coil pack. i now have a gti thats smoother than ever and feels more energetic and powerful. i think the engine really was suffering having a corroded connector on the coil pack and the HT lead. no more 1700 to 2000 rpm jerking in all gears and all engine loads. i can now accelerate in top gear from just nearly idle rpm and it pulls smoothly and without hesitation through the whole rev range. the engine may also sound slightly sweeter and feels more lively.very happy and chuffed to have sorted this out. also the job is very easy to do yourself which is a bonus. just costs price of coil pack and new leads. the splitfire leads look really nice aswell, will get a photo up when i can. Niche
More than likely the new coil pack fixed that on its own. It used to be the case for all Mk2 Polo's. A new coil and any jerking or a ruff idle was cured.
