tnewson
Hi there, I have a nakamichi cd-400 headunit... it was running in my car untill i took it out to sort out the memory loss problem (reset evertime car was turnt off) since then it wont work in my car! It works in my mates astra no problem. I was told that maybe getting an ariel adapter would help due to somtimes they work as an earth on different cars but still no joy. There is power to it as when the engine is running and headlights are on (dont ask me why) it flickers on and off... I have the connector and the vw part of the wiring is still totally standard (no cuts or anything). Also my beta headunit runs absolutly fine in the car... wierd ay?Has anyone got an idea on what it could be?Regardstom
tnewson
Just incase anyone else is having the same problem it is now sorted..Apparently new cars dont send power to the headunit via current from the battery its sent via signal from the ecu. If you want a decent headunit fitted then get a proffesional to do it!
Lukus 9N
Surely just the usual switching the red or yellow cables fixes this? As then it has a permanent feed from the battery?
stig247
it wont be getting the signal from the ecu it will be from the fuse box
