  1. Hi, I considered putting them in the parcel shelf at first then changed my mind because ive got my sub pointing upwards which will distort the sound from the speakers.. Also, im in the front and dont really want all the sound back there... I have mtx thunder speakers in the doors which are pretty good... Cheers though tom
  2. hi there, I have a lupo s... I checked under the back door cards and sadly i dont have the spaeker mounts for rear speakers.. I've got two new 10cm speakers that i wanted to install but im just wondereing where the best place to put them is? I dont really wanna cut out holes in the metal for rear speakers though. So far the only place i could see to fit them was on the lower part of the front door card (opposite side of standard speakers place). So wheres best? Cheers tom
  3. also the amp is on when the ound cuts out......
  4. Hi there, Im running an amp and sub in the boot of my lupo and for some reason is has started to cut out... I've checked the power, remote wire, earth and rca's at the amp and stereo end of the setup and i can see any fault at all... The strange thing is when it cuts out if i put on my brakes firmly it cuts back in again and stays for a bit... Any ideas? Tom
  5. yeah its the choke mate... i wouldnt worry about it. Even if its a hot day the engine is still gonna be considerbally colder than its normal operating temperature
  6. Ive had the same problem... I got my igniton switch changed (because the connections on my old one burnt out and the car wouldnt start..) im going to put it in for a full service and see if that sorts it... hopefully it should. Will post up on here whether or not the problem is solved. Tom
  7. Hi there, Recently my car has been cutting out whenever i slow down at junction ect... It seems to be idling at around 500rpm. It has also cut out while im moving along when i was changing gear so its onyl really when i let the revs drop. Also it is not performing well at all as it is reving high but there is no power behind it compared to before. Does anybody else have the same problem or does anybody know how i can solve it? Obviously the cutting out thing is the prioty as the power steering and power assisted brakes go a little crazy... Regards Tom
  8. Im just passing on what the guy at just ice told me.. he seems to know his crap. I did try everything that people suggested.. (changing over orange and red wires ect.) and it was just having it. Cheers though
  9. Just incase anyone else is having the same problem it is now sorted.. Apparently new cars dont send power to the headunit via current from the battery its sent via signal from the ecu. If you want a decent headunit fitted then get a proffesional to do it!
  10. Hi there, I have a nakamichi cd-400 headunit... it was running in my car untill i took it out to sort out the memory loss problem (reset evertime car was turnt off) since then it wont work in my car! It works in my mates astra no problem. I was told that maybe getting an ariel adapter would help due to somtimes they work as an earth on different cars but still no joy. There is power to it as when the engine is running and headlights are on (dont ask me why) it flickers on and off... I have the connector and the vw part of the wiring is still totally standard (no cuts or anything). Also my beta headunit runs absolutly fine in the car... wierd ay? Has anyone got an idea on what it could be? Regards tom
  11. lmao.... mine was so bad that i had to push it onto the road, force it into 2nd gear, start the car and whack on the throttle and it would move off... luckily i didnt need to stop on the way to the garage. VW said to me that they only sell the pedal box with the brake pedal box.. thats why it costs £88 apparently. thank feck its sorted anyways.
  12. £160 labour sounds about right... the pedal box costs £88 from volkswagen
  13. hi there, I literally had mine done on monday... had slpit it and twisted up the welds.. the main problem is that with VW to change the pedal box you have to take out the whole steering colum to put the new box in... took my garage 3 hours... new clutch + pedal box = 365 GBP. good price really.
  14. Ah... i see, thought i was seriously missing out on somthing there... thanks
  15. standard FOUR speakers? My lupo only has 2 speakers... in the doors ... are there any hidden? i have a lupo s
