1.0 Lupo Oil Temp Gauge & smoke coming out steering column!

Recommended Posts

The oil temp gauge on my 1.0 Lupo has been a bit temperamental for a few weeks its seems to be between 70 and 110 then on the bottom.

Ive checked the oil level and they are ok but today whilst driving it smoke started coming from the sterring column

Ok so I had my lights, the fan, the indicator and the windscreen washers on but after I'd pulled over and turned everything off and left it for 5 its been ok and hasnt done it since

I have added more oil this pm and took it round the block, no smoke but the oil temp gague is going up and down still

Ive got to do 200 miles to get back home tomorrow any suggestions would be gratefully received!!

Thanks

lupo does not have oil temp guage.?

water temp?

how rapid does it fluctuate?

could be the clocks, have you checked water level?

as for smoke chances are the stalks that control the wipers have a fault , this is not good if you are still using the car you could have a fire.
