Gibbeth!
Driving home this morning, and noticed that the revs were reading high, and when stopped at a junction, noticed that the lupo was ticking over at about 1600-1700 revs.Thought the car wasn't sounding/acting any different, so had my suspicions it was just the tacho, so got the the dual carriage way, put it in second, and took it to the limiter, which wasnt there!Got home, and switched off, and the needle settled at about 800 revs, so its reading a hell of a lot out.Is this going to be a case of new clocks or is there a way to reset the clocks (VAGcom etc...) Tigz™
When was the car serviced last? Was the engine revs higher than normal or was it just the tacho?
Gibbeth!
Hasnt been serviced since before christmas, but had plans to change oil and filters on monday.I dont think the engine was revving high, as I said, it didnt hit the limiter at 6000 revs (1.4s 75bhp). Tigz™
When it was ticking over at 800RPM did it sound like 800?The problem I had sounds the same, changed the fuel filter and all was ok again. But other people have had problems with the Tacho its self.I cant find the thread on the subject! Tigz™
Its the tacho if its stays high when switched off.Im sure Blackrat suggested taking the clocks out and manually turning the counter back. But then, Im sure someone else gave another, less agressive solution. Gibbeth!
Found all the threads Tigz.Mitch suggests taking the clocks out and dismantling, whereas some one else suggests disconnecting the battery!Think I know what ill be doing! For future rev, if anyone finds this thread:http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?sho...;hl=rev+counterhttp://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?sho...;hl=rev+counter
