Scraping noise when on Full Lock

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This is my first post and I'm gonna be a pain and ask for advice!!!! lol. I have had my GTI Lupo for a few weeks now and I <3 it, the only problem is a scraping noise when reversing and when on full lock. My friend who is a mechanic had a listen and thought it was the universal joint, however, after I put it into the local dealership they found 'no problem'. Is this a common fault with Lupo's? I'm confused, but to be fair it's not hard. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

I HAD A SCRAPING NOISE IN EXACTLY THE SAME SCENARIO AS YOU.

TURNED OUT THE CAR HAD 50 PROFILE TYRES ON INSTEAD OF THE STANDARD 45'S. THESE WERE SCRUBBING ON THE INNER ARCH smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

HOPE THIS HELPS
