Recommended Posts

right its my brithday next month and im wanting to get a decent sound sytem...

ive got my hands on a head unit...

'rockford fosgate RFX9300R' mp3/cd-player

and ive got some questions...

the speakers in the door they're 16.5cm right? will some after market ones just fit straight in i read the 'headed' section said something about mk4 golf adapter plates?

are they the only speakers in the car or are there some tweeters up front in the dash?

i have also found a sub im interested in...

Rockford fosgate RFD228 punch 8" dual 4 OHM...

would i be needing a 2 channel amp for the sub to run and a 4 channel up front?

cheers. shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />

right

Q1 - speaker size -

A1-

the speaker is 16cm (6") but with a adaptor ring (mk4 Golf) you can fit 17cm (6.5")

Q2- Mk4 golf speaker grills

A2- i am 99% cert the reason why you need them is to allow the basket of the speaker to clear the window when its down , so you do need them , or you can make some yourself out of mdf TShirt2K stylez ( see archive)

Q3- tweeters

A3- yes there are tweeters in the car along with the mids in the doors , they are located in the top corners of the dashboard ( in the corners closest to the windscreen , also see archive section about a how to change them )

Edited by one litre wonder ;)
