philbee
Just had my 2002 Gti serviced and was told the same thing (by 2 seperate garages) 40000 miles or 4 years. Apparantly VW have just revised their recommendation. They quoted £560 including the 4 year service. My car has only done 26000 miles. When I had it done they said that the cam seals were leaking. The whole thing came to £720. Not to good for a 4 year ols car with 26000 miles.Personally I would not take the risk of not getting it done. Nicki
Yep, sounds about right. Recommended interval is 4 years/40k miles now so an 02 plate would be coming up for 4 years old.

Adam K
my old sport, the owner before me declined having his cambelt done at 40k and it snapped at 43k and cost me a grand.
