Why do we let Monkeys service our cars

Recommended Posts

As the warranty has run out I take my car to a VW specialist garage, which a mate works at. Had the 40k service done last year and after 2 days the drivers side light stops working and then the inspection indicator starts flashing. Last Friday took it to the same garage for the 50k service. Because the 3rd brake light is not working they take off the roof spoiler ( Off their own back without my knowledge ) and cannot fix the problem as VW dont have the £28 part in stock.

Picked the car up and they inform me about the 3rd brake light. Driving home the rear boot light warning light is now permantly on and notice that when you open the boot a washer or bolt is now swimming around in the bootlid and the roof spoiler is not fully secured.

Because of this I now have the alarm informing me it works on Monday morning @ 5am and would you believe 30 minutes ago !!!! ( Reason why I cannot sleep ) which is going to go down a storm with the neighbours.

To top it this is the 3rd night of broken sleep ( 2nd night woke up due to a full bladder ) laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> and I will have to purchase some analsol to get rid of the bags under my eyes.

Can it get any worse, the misses is in agony with trapped wind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What should I do ?? Write a letter to the garage ?? Speak to the owner ?? Go to a VW dealer in future and pay top money ???

the angry, but probably inncorrect answer is to go down there, kick him in the testicles and then urinate on his feet.....thats what i'd do.

the more sensible, and less likely to get you incarcerated soloution, would be to nip down and have a quite word...whcih is what id do after my other half had calmed me down a bit and told me that peeing was sticktly a toilet based activity, and not a good way to show anger with incompetent fools.

It's a shame that as you'd expect a specialist to take more care than a stealer. Certainly my local specialist has a very good reputation, but I guess these things are only tested when there's a problem.

Like Chris says, a quiet word is best at first. I can't believe a reputable garage wouldn't want to sort out the problems you've found.
