Fuel emissions light just wont go away!!!

Recommended Posts

.....as above really been in for 3 days having this and that changed the stealer rings me up and asks wether one of his tech's could take the car home over night to make sure the light doesnt come on again blink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> I politely told him to sod right off and Ill test it for myself. Just so happens I drive 2 metres down the road and would you believe it, it lights up again been on for several months now its a real pain not knowing really if theres anything wrong and bits being changed left right and centre! Maybe there's a fundamental problem?

yes, this old chestnut!

after 2 days of lupo ownership, the emmisions lite came on! put on vas 5051, says camshaft actuactor, charcoal cannister and soleniod were at fault. ordered those in, had em fitted, lite goes out. next day, after the garage is shut, lite comes on again! aarrrrgggghhh! back on diag, same fault! check the fuses, found one had blown! change the fuse, blows straight away! traced it back to a breather pipe, runs from the crankcase to the air filter, has a little heater fitted in-line, which is designed to stop the oil icing the engine in cold climates! best of it is, its not listesd as even being fitted to a lupo, but a brazilian polo! so, ordered this pipe up, and so far, so good! no more lite! plenty of other warranty issues tho! but thats another story!

How strange? Heard lots about the warning ight being on but never that solution. Good work Lupogtiboy. biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Strange though how a part to stop icing up (doubt very much engine oil will ice up though) is fitted to a Brazilian car...is it not hot there confused.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />

They're on the 5th attempt as we speak I gave them the information lupogtiboy kindly gave me so see if we can resolve it now! They told me if they cant do it they'll send a specialist tech down from somewhere wacko.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

im in same boat mate, mine comes off and on for no reason whenever it wants(not when its cold , its random).

iv taken mine to dealers they said it was the sensor they replaced it, was good for about 3 weeks and then it comes on again, mates golf also does this, its a VW problem in my opion!

They are waiting on another sensor now from Germany which will take a week to arrive, which isn't to bad as Im away next week. I think they are just changing sensors for the fun of it now though! not sure if they used your case lupogtiboy probably dont understand a single word you wrote bunch of muppets!

well bikerz yours isnt the same fault - once this light is on it stays on

TY: thanks for the twix, martin thanks for the coke! or vice versa

Doesnt sound like they have sent for the right thing - this is a pipe with heater and not a sensor sad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
