randommandan
can you fit pop out windows on a vw lupo 1.4 e? Edited April 13, 2016 by randommandan
carrera-gt
You can fit them to any Lupo as long as it has the fixing in the B pillar, you can add them in but it's a more complicated job
christophertr6
I fitted them to my GTI which did not have the fixings in the B pillar. I bought the blind nuts from VW dealer (about £1.25 each). You have to drill the B pillar to accept these fittings. They are hexagonal in section behind the flange. I found that drilling the hole slightly undersized then tapping the fixing into the hole and giving it a slight turn (literally 5 or 10 degrees) with pliers locked it in place. It does not seam enough but it has worked for me. To set out the correct position of the holes I used my other car as a pattern - which is not too helpful for others I know! I think I have a photo of the holes I drilled which will indicate their position - they are not right in the middle of the depression in the B pillar metal so beware.
randommandan
will these be the fixings?
christophertr6
Yup. That'll be the ones. Easy job. Main task will be cutting out the old windows. I used welding wire as a Cheese Wire cutter. Take car is I did manage to smack myself in the face.
