LowerclassLupo
I have a GTI conversion Lupo and it only had one lambda on when I got it, nothing connected to the other lambda connector. I'm getting a custom system made so should I go back to having two lambdas. Does it matter which one is before and after the cat? Where the best place to put them along the system? carrera-gt
Lambas come in two flavours heated ( 4 wire ) and unheated ( 2 wire ), they have a minimum working temperature hence the heated version. The reason for two lambdas is a cheaper CAT can be used, the first lamda makes sure the exhaust gas is in the right range for the CAT the second that the CAT has done it's job.Your exhaust vendor should be able to advise you on CAT and Lambda positioning, fundamnetaly as close to the hot end of the exhaust as is practical. LowerclassLupo
Cheers! Does it matter what way round they go on a GTI? As pre-cat and post-cat?
carrera-gt
If you were going to use a heated version then it would go after the CAT.
