  1. I hope someone can guide me in the right direction with this. I have a 1.0 mpi 2001 51 plate blue lupo that had an engine management light issue which turned out to be leads n plugs after and a stuck EGR valve. Fault codes p0404 p0302. Leads were replaced and EGR valve cleaned and all codes cleared. I noticed a longer than usual turnover before the engine fired after these problems were fixed and managed for a good week being able to fire the lupo up and get about ect, but as times gone if left over night struggles to start. I managed to bump start it only the other day after priming the pedal ect and once running would start after a few hours fine but left overnight was faced with the same issue of a non starter just turns over but doesn’t fire almost does on occasions. So I diagnosed and brought back a pending code p0321 which I believe to be the crank sensor or speed sensor? I’ve located it but I don’t know how to fully reach the part I’ve got as far as taking off the filter housing (removed battery) I have the new part crank sensor and hoping that I can fit this myself with some help and knowledge of how to remove the old one. I’ve found the connection for it but the crank end seems to disappear into the crank body? What is my next step moving forward. I’ve attached a photo of something else I’m not too familiar with it’s a white plastic cap that appears to be open below the coil should this be open? Also the bottom picture is I believe the location of said crank sensor. (Not my engine)
  2. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with my Lupo troubles. Ive had the car since July, Ive changed spark plugs, coil pack, ignition leads. Cleaned all throttle body out and hoses etc. Yet it still struggles with staying running , I start the engine and the revs drop to about 400 , yet i give it some gas and I can get going and its fine to drive away. But when still in traffic revs are 500 at its highest. Sometimes it cuts out and stalls and cuts out when cold or when Im doing manoeuvres too. Like steering to park into a spot. Its on and off and I cant get a OBD to connect to it as it displays “Link error” Could anyone help please. Its a 1.4 1999, Lupo S. Automatic.
  3. Hello, have a problem with the 3l automatic transmission. when I'm driving, suddenly in the middle of driving, it shifts out of gear and loses the gas pedal. the engine just idles. and then I have to stop and turn off the engine, then when I start it again changes gears normally without any problems, but after a few kilometers the same thing happens again....does anyone know what it is about...no mechanic knows what it is about
  4. Hi has anyone got an idea what locking nut this is and how to get it off I have got them on with BBS RA's the person who I brought the car off had lost the locking nut and I need to take the wheel off to check brakes and do some work on the car....I am however finding it hard to get a key or know what key to even get for this locking bolt, I would like to be able to use these nuts again so don't really want to break them in anyway but really need them ASAP. Thank for anyone who can help with this issue.
  5. Sorry for the long post as well it's a lot to read Okay so to start of this is my first time ever installing something like this in a car, I followed the instructions that come with the kit however when I fitted my new active subwoofer in my car I thought all had gone well it turned on and played music through it, however the subwoofer does not turn off when I remove the key from the car. I have googled this and it said something about the remote turn on wire which for me is on the back of the head unit and is a blue and white wire. The cable that come with the subwoofer is blue not that it matters as its a remote turn on wire for the sub but I ran this wire through the car to the head unit and then I have wired the blue wire with the kit to the remote wire on the back of the head unit which was the blue and white one.....I did this by simply cutting the wire in half and then joining them together with the blue wire from the subwoofer creating a "T" junction effect. I have not got a photo of this part however in the images you can see that I have had to tape up the blue and white again while I try and find a solution haha Note:I had wired this all up before turning the sub on for the first time I didn't add the remote wire after. Sorry for the amount of detail but really not sure on what the problem could be I can have links to photos if it helps as well. Thanks to anyone who can help me Active subwoofer: Edge EDB12A 2014 model Car: VW Lupo W reg (2000) Head unit: jvc kw-xr811 http://www.manualslib.com/manual/488544/Jvc-Kw-Xr811.html?page=2#manual (Wiring/ install manual for help.) Okay so I had a second look today at this issue and I was thinking if it was possible to wire it in with the yellow wire from the iso harness as this gets 12v when the ignition is on and then goes off when the key is removed? If this is even right? this is what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/nBpyd5q.jpg I have some photos to show how the ISO harness is done I had to change the yellow and the red wires around as the Unit was not remembering anything when I turned the car off so that's why. When I first tried this by linking it up with the yellow 12v wire it made the car ignition go backwards the stereo would only come on once the car had gone from ignition to off it would not come on otherwise even if the car was started so not sure on that. I also am not sure how to show images so I have had to post links to them as well https://imgur.com/a/N8lss
  6. So I own a 1.4 16v lupo on a 1999, (has only covered around 58,500 miles) Coming home last night, the dreaded whyning began, however it didn't seem to get louder as you went faster. it sounded louder as you took your foot off the accelerator to come down the revs, anyway that aside. Seems to me like I need a new gear box. So the question is, dose anyone know if this model has rod-type gear linkage or is it cable gear linkage? Thanks.
