  4. hi im looking for a part number for the ECU for the lupo sport 16v (100bhp) its the 74KW engine and the car is 2000/v reg if anyone can help cheers James
  5. mine is the 100BHP engine 74KW yours will be 55KW i was just wondering if anyone knew if the ecu from the 75bhp engine could be used in the 100bhp engine cheers
  6. Hi, quick question, my LUPO sport ECU has died and it is the 74KW engine, and i was wondering if i would somehow be able to use a 55KW ecu in it, i know it probely wont but i thought i would check as i can get a 55KW 600 quic cheaper than what VW main dealer wants, so i know it proberly wont work, but i thought i would ask if anyone knew if it would as i might save myself a fair few pennies thanks james
  7. hi, the throttle body has just been cleaned, which i thought would of cured my problem but it obviosly hasnt. i guess i will just have to take to VW and get them to look it over, but they will charge and arm and a leg
  8. hi, ive got a problem with my car, its a lupo sport and its falied its MOT on all emmissions, the garage i took it to said it was a fault with the lamda sensor, so i took it today to have it replaced, they replaced it and it failed again, so they ran a diagnotics check on it, and it showed no fault. i took my car to vw for a service 3 weeks ago which was reading no fault. The garage thought it could be the cat but they said that you wouldnt get a certain reading failing if the cat had gone. So does anybody have any idea as to what it might be, i thought maybe the ecu but surly that would show up on a diagnostics check. cheers james
  9. no ive not changed it yet, its on my list of things to do
  10. opps i complety forgot to mention that, its a 16v lupo sport.
  11. hey, just a quick question, my car just decided to cut out on me and when i restarted it wasnt firing on all cylinders from the sounds of things, really lumpy idle and lots of smelly black smoke comming out of the back! but when i drove off to get home it was fine, performance as usual no problems, when i got home again running at about 500rpm juddering, cutting out, and black smoke. ive checked for head gasket syptoms i dont think its that, im thinking its ethier a spark plug/ht lead etc problem? has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be? thanks James
  12. bonnet and front bumper that houses the indicator bulbs on a vw lupo! does anyone a) know what the part number for it is? and style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> know rougly how much they cost?. As ive managed to take a chuck out of mine, by acciendly reversing into a wall while on full lock! opps. cheers in advance
  13. VW are no where near as good quailty as they used to be, i own a mk2 golf, and a vw lupo sport which i brought last week, although very pleased with my lupo, and have had no problems yet other than i think the pedal box needs replacing as clutch pedals clicks and makes a strange noise when u bring it up (am i right in thinking its pedal box?) anyway i have more faith in my old 1.6 golf lump, than my lupo engine, i think the problem lies in more moden engines been a,lot more complicated in terms of all the elctrical mangement etc, and theres so much more to go wrong, when u think of VW you think good qauilty long lasting cars, and it seems that VW are selling thier cars knowing this is what people think but then not living up to it, all in the aid of cutting costs and making cash!! when i broguht my lupo, already onwing my golf thats now 14 years old and showing no signs of retiring i thought it would be stupid not to buy another VW, and of course it wasnt, but there seems to be alot more common problems and unreliablity with the newer models speicaly the lupo, also it may seem that vw dont wish to try and make it more relaible seens as sales havnt met there expecations and they will be jacking it off soon, i cant understand why so many of these car companys cant make a reliable car/engine (like old VW lumps) that is pretty much faultless, considering the amount of money they have. sorry its so long and proberly dont make any sense! lol James
  14. my headunit has sub pre outs which is what i connected it to, i made sure it was switced on and full on test still heard nothing, do u switch the LP (low pass) filter on, on the headunit, if so i dont think/havnt come across this setting on mine, or is it a switch on the amp? i did think it could be the sub, just the screws have been put in at a really annoying angle by bloke i brought it off that i couldnt be bothered with taking them out to look, lol maybe i should be bothered and find that my problem is simple, i will test with speaker 2moro
  15. oh yeah, there isnt ne in that pic, cos my mate had taken it out, but there was one in there on testing
