Rear washer
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI replied to LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
Wont loose A4 wiper cos i put the standard arm on when it goes to dealer (`ha-ha`). That way they cant blame the Audi part for the fault (even though that would be rediculous but we know what dealers are like). Will just swap back to the Audi arm when the job is all fixed for free. VW did say it happens on Polo's actually, would be a costly job if i had to pay i bet. If it breaks out of warranty reckon ill fit the AuDi style rotating washer as thats better anyway but VW wont fit it as "its not the correct part" -
Who has changed their exhaust?
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI replied to M5TT X Vw Lupo GTi (Black's topic in Tuning
Can remember how it looked but not how it sounded. Does it make much noise? You going to polish up your old backbox (haha) and sell it or you keeping it? -
Car is going in to dealer next Saturday to have the rear washer replaced. The washer has snapped inside the boot and now follows the wiper accross the glass (instead of just spraying straight upwards). This is fine except the washer is leaking into the boot! This is the kinda funny bit though (and apparently the wiper breaking is a common Lupo fault). To replace the washer itself requires fitting a new, washer, wiper, and wiper motor combined. Also as water has got onto the boot locking mechanism they are fitting a new one of those as well. Again all for free but cant imagine cost if it wasnt under warranty.

Car went to have the 3rd bonnet release lever under warranty on Saturday. Also had a new pair of bonnet release cables fitted (thanks for spotting they had frayed Clifford). Job took the dealer 4hrs in total. Looks a pain to change the cables, glad it was free.

Who has changed their exhaust?
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI replied to M5TT X Vw Lupo GTi (Black's topic in Tuning
Hi M5TT X Vw Lupo Gti (Black)... 1. how long is your login name? 2. Tigz is talking about my exhaust, he saw my car over the weekend and we had a good chat about cars which i much enjoyed. 3. My exhaust is 2inch bore from the catalyst to the backbox with a straight through silencer in the original middle location. Then out of the backbox are 2 3.5inch tailpipes that exit in the same place as the standard Gti tailpipes do, albeit they are pulled higher into the bumper so they dont look like they are sagging! The new system has removed 300degress of bend from the system so is alot less restrictiveas well. 4. Car is very deep at tickover though not too loud. The note gets louder as im driving and stays very deep until 5000rpm. Between `5000-7000rpm` the note changes to a `jap-style`/bike note which again sounds awesome. 5. Note: at no point does the exhaust make any raspy (1.2 Nova style noise). 6. Car was rolling roaded at 131bhp when a few of us went for a day there. However the engine has done a few more miles now and loosened up abit. Car also has a K&N panel filter and the exhaust. Guessing at `135-140bhp`. -

I have 45mm offset wheels and I can run my 205/40R17's and have my 65mm all round drop and carry 4 people with ease. Only rubs i get are on outer front arch liner and this is minimal as ive dressed the lips and liners back abit. You will get a rub on the passenger side floorpan on full lock as well, but how often do you drive round on full lock!!! This can be lived with really.
-
I agree, these are the figures I have as well.
-
Yeah as Matty said I had to grind a little of my front callipers which was an unexpected surprise. HOWEVER...by having 45mm offset wheels I can run my 205/40R17's and have my 65mm all round drop and carry 4 people with ease. Only rubs i get are on outer front arch liner and this is minimal as ive dressed the lips and liners back abit.

Who has changed their exhaust?

Had a system fitted at Ascar Sheffiel last Friday. Twin 3.5inch centre exit fitted tight in the bumper cutout so it looks tidier than the standard pipe that hangs really low. Sounds awesome...you need to her it to believe it. Really deep at tickover with a rumble like a turbo car with a big exhaust. Stays deep until 5000rpm then raises its tone until it sounds like a jap system at 7000rpm. The guys at Ascar did an awesome job...highly recomended. -
Rev Counter - 3500 rpm tick over!
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI replied to Slyclone's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
No sorry, not even heard of that before. Bet its funny when your thrashing the car at 7000rpm and the `rev-counter` is off the clock at 9K!!! -

LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI replied to RallyeBaz's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
VW screenwash has a sweet smell to it. Just a though cos its been bad weather last few days so you may have used your washers for the first time. -

Window tints with electric windows
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI replied to johnboy's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
No but if your window motor is tht close to the glass its catching the tint film then maybe you should get the motor positions looked at. They may scratch the glass as well mate. -
Yeah M3 style crystal for me or lexus style like an MX5 or Civic, integra etc (NO ORANGE LENSES...JUST RED AND CLEAR)!!!!!
-
Found them... They are just as you say. 1.....oto Lupoclub.de from our links section, 2.....Goto gallerie, 3....there they are They are not symetrical though. The right hand side and left had side are the same. ie: the right hand side had the reversing light on the inside and the left hand side had the reversing light on the outside. Oh and why do all Lupo "lexus style lights" have to have orange in them...red and white lenses would be just fine i think.

I had an AP racing `set-up` on my `race-spec` mini a few years ago and i used EBC greenstuff pads with that. Very little dust and excellent performance, just got to get a bit if heat into the pads before they really bite.

Engine Oil - What to use?
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI replied to Crusoe's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
Yeah mine too Twisty. I had to `top-up` before the 10,000 mile service. Never used a drop since then though. Oh yeah in answer to the original question i just use the semi sythetic VW stuff. Quantum is it called...it has list of manufacturers on the back and it includes stuff like Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc. If its good enough for them... -
Nottingham & Birmingham are both fine for me.

My Lup' wouldnt get laughed out with this!!
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI replied to Tigz™'s topic in Styling
If thats the new Lupo then im glad i have an "old" model. Dont like any bodykits im afraid, i prefer proper metal panels (ie: just like the gti). Did like the spoiler though. Dubsport have those fat arches on their 2.8 VR6 Lupo. -
