  1. I had the same on my Lupo, i believe that the pads have a wear indicator that when they are too low a piece of metel on the pad scrapes the disc and creates a loud squeaking noise to let you know they need doing. I know that when i did the discs and pads it went away so must have something like that system. Worth a shot. Cheers, James.
  2. My driver door used to do that and got annoyed one day with it slammed the door quite hard and it never did it again lol (im not recommending it though)
  3. Try the magic button and then see what you get in!!!! Wasn't me that told you....
  4. Could be the micro switch that is in the door, common fault i believe. It will also affect the alarm if it is the switch and is located on the drivers door somewhere. Not a lot of info, i know, but its a start. Cheers, James.
  5. Ouch, at least it's sorted though. Cheers, james.
  6. The fault is the egr valve i think he says, so not much of a problem, just a case of finding out how much it would be and telling buyers that would help you in this situation. Cheers, James.
  7. yeh around £2000 to 2500 with the fault, to be honest, even if you fixed the fault you wouldn't gain anything on the sale price, but will stop giving people ammo to haggle at your price. Just use a piece of duck tape over the light and no one is any wiser.... lol Hope this helps!! Cheers, James.
  8. It was the one that has a side view of a car and a ligthning bolt going through the front of it if that makes sense, thats the one i replaced and it worked, no idea what the symbol means, but hey, thought it was worth checking all the fuses one day and sorted. Cheers, James.
  9. Hahahaha, well....you started it lol, naaa, if you don't like the faults it has, don't get one, but its a Lupo and that should be the best reason to get one...
  10. Mine didn't either though and it was just a fuse, try the fuse box bud!!!!!!
  11. Hahaha, sooooo should, but i don't have the "time" to waste on those bast*rds at customer services lol, messed me around a few times as you can tell lol, cheers for doing the thread as well, will answer a few newbie questions i would have thought. Cheers, James.
  12. Sounds like its piston rings to me, but you say it isn't smoking very much?? Problem could be somewhere else, but that is a lot of oil to be using. If the above is directed at me, then it has been covered, but i am no expert which is why i needed a little more info on the problem to come to my conclusion. Cheers, James.
  13. How much are you topping it up by and exactly how often? Might sound pointless, but will help me in my diagnosis (currently at college, just done some work on these kinds of problem, but in a motorsport aplication) i may still be able to help though. Cheers, James.
  14. Wooooo, my thread on the roof rust, cheers for linking it!!!!!! James.
  15. Yeh, sounds more like the coolant temp, but as i say the light work come on untill its completely failed, so still worth checking. It's a common problem.
  16. Sounds like it could be either the coolant temperature sensor or the lambda sensor starting to show signs of failing, the warning lights will only come on in the event of complete failure of the sensors. The best way to check is on either vagcom or a good quality diagnostics tool at a local garage or something. Hope this helps.
  17. Decided to go for the Yoko S-drives again. A little more expensive, but they are all i have had after my Toyos and i feel they are a bit better although many people will disagree. I see what you mean about the selection though....
  18. Thanks for the info mate, i like the sound of your plans, will look awesome in gold and a black car i think, but anything will look lush on your car. I think apolished lip and black centres on a Jazz blue car would look ok tbh, but will have to see how it goes with the polishing first. Cheers, james.
  19. mmmmm....i must admit, that would get peoples attention!!!!! ill put that in a poll i think haha. Well they have been very well stripped back and i have a tube of autosol in the garage and thought id give it a go, they will only be summer wheels so the Interlagos's would go back on and shouldn't be too hard to maintain the shine i hope. I'm a little OCD so thing like this are my cup of tea, i could literally spend hours of polishing and enjoy every second of it wierdly. Glad to see someone else is in on the beaty of the RXII, i think they are loverly, any plans with yours? What tyres are you putting on width wise, obviously 40/16, but unsure on what width to get. Cheers, James.
  20. Cheers for the advice Ray. I used to have ruber mats in the Lupo and they were brilliant so might have to invest in some, money is getting a bit tight at the moment as my O2 sensor broke today, plus i have these wheels to pay for. The carpet mats are waiting in the packets in my room at the moment and they are looking quite nice too!!! Thanks again!
  21. I had been advised to get the 4 stud version, but purely to save on the cost of adapters, but the 5 stud was a lot cheaper and these were in the sort of condition i wanted so i could do my own thing....polishing here i come!!!! Quite excited now!! I not sure whether to go white centres or black centre on the Polo (Jazz blue) or maybe even the same colour as the car, what do you guys think?
  22. Adapters will come in due coarse, just wanted something different that i haven't owned before, didn't think that i could go wrong with £80, the dishes have already been well prepared, the centres need a bit more work....16" swung it for me as well. Will get some pics up for you guys when i get them. Any ideas on the centres?? Thanks for the comments on the car as well....very much appreciated!!!! Cheers, james.
  23. Picking up some BBS RXII's next Tuesday that are an unfinished project so should keep me busy for the time being. I'm feeling a polished lip, but not sure on the centres, what do you guys think? £80 from a local guy in 5 stud, but far from finished so will have to get a move on!!! Just want something different for the show season!! Cheers, James.
