  1. i had everyday for ages. but since about 6 months have never had it since. i had 2 things done ecu update and coil pack/ht change. so its one of those that completely eliminates it.
  2. kangaroo hopping from cold can be common fault and is curable, but i forget what cures it. possibly ecu dealer update or maybe a first sign of the above fault.
  3. hesitation at just under 2krpm means you need a new coil pack and ht lead.
  4. i think it will look more normal than that. in the same way the sirocco was toned down.
  5. i believe the lupo gti is more exclusive than the R32. but that aside, power and perofrmance do not give you the character that a small car can provide. by character i mean it feels good to be in the car for no other reason than to be in it. plus the fact its a quality small car.
  6. maybe you should have been given a lethal injection at birth as at some point you will die anyway.
  7. the state benefits are one of the best things about this country. but they could do with better management. with the above example, before even the 1st payment was made a manager could have said it would be cheaper to buy a house for these people in another part of the UK. possibly even cheaper to buy a tropical island with a beach house as an investment and let people stay on it. no one can take away the fact that everyone has the right for shelter and food once they are in within the Uk borders. any other attitude is not responsible. the openness of our borders is another issue.
  8. the mini GP supercharged has 218bhp and 10.5:1 compression ratio i believe.
  9. its called the lupo now not UP!. and this is new news about an all electric version of the chassis.
  10. i would get the air con stripped out and sell it. and ooo i reckon 200bhp@wheels as a guess. going for a custom rev limit?
  11. the loads and possible footprints will be different from going in a straight line compared to going around a corner. this is why camber gives more grip in a corner but less in a straight line.
  12. i am interested in global climate change also, particularly ocean levels. recently its been said that the polar melt waters will take upto 50 years to actually give their full volume of water ( if they were to fully melt) to the rest of the oceans due to it being trapped from currents and temperatures. as always though there are counters to the speculation. this was said to be good news for pacific islanders who live at near sea level. but i think it just means they will get it as more of a sharp shock when it does come.
  13. thats good, have you done a study on climate change after a large asteroid impact? its going to happen some time.
  14. this is the impact picked by a weather satellite, it observed it in wavelengths from 0.5 to 14 microns, covering all 12 spectral channels of the satellite sensors. actual ground images are said to be doubtful as it was in such a sparsely populated region of Africa. it may not be long before a bigger object is detected and then "the popular media" may be forced to report on it.
  15. its one of the most important news items in a long time. maybe your fixated on injury and death?
  16. well the remarkable aspect is that we now have proven that we can spot a previously unknown object and predict its course and provide a warning in very little time. this was a first in the history of humanity. the object was only a small distance away just beyond the moon by comparison, and it was recorded, calculated and publicised very quickly. its good news. the same process will work for more dangerous objects. although it wouldnt have been enought time to clear an entire city. the estimated impact time was very accurate. impressive stuff.
  17. the news has nothing to do with it being big or destructive, its a science report. millions of people did not die, is that better?
  18. the meteor has been confirmed to have impacted planet earth. it broke up in the atmosphere releasing between the equivalent of 1 and 2 kilotons of TNT. multiple shards may have hit the ground as meteorites. in Kenya an infrasound detector picked up the signals indicating the energy strength. it was travelling at 12.8 km/s, at 1 kiloton of energy it would need to have been a minimum of 50 tons in mass. the KLM flight that reported seeing a flash was 1000km away at the time. more reports have been said to witness a fireball. there are still no images yet, hopefully someone somewhere captured a shot of it in Africa.
  19. driver headset projected video image of car surroundings overlayed on blindspots. video here: 8mb vid nice idea. seems a little too complicated though. i think it would be better to just have the A pillars have their own cameras and with a fixed interior projectors onto them or lcd display mounted down the length of them.
  20. science is not doom and gloom though its inspiring and exciting, especially about space and life as we know it jim. i agree that all other "human affairs" from the media is mind numbing **** though. the universe is seriously interesting.
  21. is there a "serious discussions" forum section? perhaps there needs to be.
  22. the new lupo coming out soon will be used by audi to make a pure electric drive car. good idea. seems like VAG will make good use of the new lupo with possible hybrids aswell and used by all the brands. nows the time for tuning companies to forget rolling roads and ecu remaps and focus on electrical performance adaptations and fitting of extra power packs. rolling roads wont be needed so much as the power output is written on the power packs/batteries lol.
  23. appears to be no report on the event as yet. but this was on the nasa website.
