  1. Hi lloydy I too am dropping 40mm on a set of Weitec Ultra Gt's, you shouldnt have too much trouble to be honest although im sure that if you cane it over speed bumps it'll catch!. Just be careful and take it easy. But as my friends have all told me, if you aint rubbin you aint dubbin! lol (wont be saying that when I hand them the sump repair bill!!)
  2. Yeah exactly, thats why when i saw this was for a 1.4 16v I thought i'd give it a go. Its been ordered so i'll fit it whenever it arrives and update the post.
  3. My 1.4 Sport is running on 16's shouldnt be much different I wouldnt have thought. Its not been lowered tho. The rims are wrapped with 195/40/16 Toyo Proxy TR-1's
  4. Who are ya? You were only one of 3 loops there. Me being one of them YAY! I had a good look under the hood. Got some questions if your on here. ta
  5. I'll let you guys know what its like when it turns up. At least if its a ditrect fit we know there is finally a Manifold out there that you dont need to poodle(?) about with.
  6. Thanks Mister Bob, looks like im gonna spend my hard won wod on the manifold in that case.
  7. Hmmm... not overly inspiring then! shame. Cost wise its not too far off the raceland item.
  8. Are you still looking for donor cars? If so im up for it. 1.4 16v Sport. BMC CDI w/cold air feed. is the only engine mod. I would have read the whole thread but at 8 pages my goldfish like attension would have been stretched to the max! lol
  9. Has anyone had any experience of 'Ashley manifolds'? They are selling them on europerformance.co.uk and are supposedly for the 1.4 16v, which i hope should mean they'd fit fit without the hassle of the raceland manifold. ? Maybe?

    Brake Upgrade

Guys, What would peeps recommend for a plug and play brake upgrade on my loop 1.4 sport? I have fitted 16' Momo's so am looking for something with a bit of show but not too much hassle, but will fill the wheel. Ta

    Custom Manifold

I was looking at sorting my manifold but have the same one as davidp. So what were getting at here, is there will be no real inprovement from spending the money on an aftermarket mani? Im better off with a sport cat system from the manifold the rear.
  12. I aborted mission anyway and just installed a switch in the end. It was to try and reverse the switched with the live power to the headunit, so that it sent an 'off' signal to my amp when I turned off the head unit power. I wasnt sure it would work anyway, so I gave up before I began! lol.
  13. Chapps and chappetts, Could anyone shed some light on how you remove the female 'pins' from the '8 pin' connector block that plugs into the back of the headunit? I have removed the yellow 'bar' from the block, but cant fathom how to actually get a pin out. Thanks
  14. TBH i have it connected via a special connectror block that goes into the back of the headunit. It would be the '12v signal' slot of you will.
  15. Ok here goes... the wonderful world of wiring... Finnaly got all my ICE in and working. Bonza! Ok, the issue now is for whatever reason the amp isnt turning off when I switch off the headunit and even when I take te keys out of the ignition. Its permananly live! Headunit is a Blaupunkt Brisbane and the amp is an Alpine T-222 All connections are good. The amp does stay off when I first plug the connectors into the back of the head unit, but as soon as I power up the head unit the amp turns on (as it should) but jus doesnt then turn off again! It does however go off when I dsconnect the head unit. My mate reckons it has something to do with the power feed to the head unit, and you have to swap a couple of cables over but i dont have a clue what should or shouldnt be swapped. Any help would be great.
  16. You go ahead and beat a man when he's down... sob sob. lol Anyone got any views on my power supply issue? (see the edit on the first thread)
  17. I think one may have been a donut and not looked at the rest of the wiring diagram that clearly shows the RCA cables! Proves that concentrating doesnt allways work! lol Yes looks like ive been a dick and missed them out all together. That would be why she's dead then. DOH!! Thanks for yer help tho chaps. I wouldnt have even realised other wise. Amaturs! tsk tsk.
  18. oh kay.... Today I managed to get my loverly Alpine Type-E starter set (from caraudiosecurity.co.uk) wired it up (how I thought it should be and..... Nothing. Not a sausage!! I get the power light on the Amp, but thats it! I have wired the power straight off the battery (with the fuse in line - The fuse is good) Connected that to the Alpine T-222 2ch amp Amp Grnd earthed via the spare wheel holding nut thingy I have wired in the 'control lead' to the back of my Blaupunkt Brisbane headunit. I have use the 12v/amp tab. I have bridged the amp as its only running my Alpine Type-E sub. The wiring is good and at the correct polarity. All im getting is the blue power on light on top of the amp and it just stays on even when the ignition is off. Im not getting any sound out of it what so ever. EDIT: From speaking to my mate who has done a few VAG group installs in the past, he was saying about reversing the power feed into my head unit. I believe this to be the cause of my mysterious bat flatteries and the reason my Amp remote simply switches the amp on and not off again. Could anyone shed some light on what needs to be done? Im a bit of a novice at this im afraid, so apologies if its something basic. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I have a bit of an issue... ahmm... It would appear that when almost on full lock the horn sounds (Left and Right lock). Quite funny to my family when i showed them, but not so to the poor guy i pulled out behind in the car park, thinking I was some nutter. I would be as bold as to gather that there is probably a dodgy connection within the steering wheel to cause this, howerver im a bit stumped as to how you remove the wheel. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. (EDIT) Im a donut, just found it in the how to section. Next time I'll look before I type!
  20. What model do you have? on my 1.4 Sport I have a 70mm 'L'bow samco fitted.
  21. Hmmm, added girth is always a bonus! lol
  22. Yeah! I was trying to avoid spacers (im a tart). Cest la vie. Longer bolts and a pair of spacers it is then.
