  1. Well done! (Note to self - avoid Manchester for a few days) style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Jack
  2. After a little fiddling to ensure all the wiring was well out of the way deep in the dash, the unit fits flush. Used the cage it came with to get it secure. It is a snug fit, though. Best £66 (incl. delivery) I've spent. Then Mrs J decides she wants a new car, so the Loop (plus Kenwood) might be going style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Might not get a chance to improve my ICE skills with subs and amp after all Jack
  3. Thanks to everyone for all their help. This `numb-skull` has fitted the unit with a little help from his Clublupo friends border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> Jack
  4. Thanks - sorry for being a `numb-skull`! Jack
  5. Thanks! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> A few questions 1. What does ISO stand for (ie. what is an ISO) 2. What are trailing leads? 3. Is it obvious where the aerial adaptor goes? Sorry to be a pain guys! Jack
  6. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />+--> QUOTE(one litre wonder style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />) just remember to `re-ajust` the wiring loomWhat adjustments do I need to make to the wiring loom and how - I'm a complete novice with electrics/ stereos? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  7. I have just ordered the following new head unit for the Loop (1.0E): http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...roducts_id=3025 To save looking, it's a Kenwood `KDC-3027G`, to replace the standard Beta unit. How difficult is it for a complete novice like me to change the units over, and what kit will I need? Thanks guys! Jack
  8. Brian's also still got his Merc 500E, I think. However, neither of them have got a Loop - although David/ Exiges gets to ride in one sometimes if he asks nicely style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Jack
  9. The Exige was fantastic but he sold it last year. Only ever drove it once (took it to Supercar Sunday at Gaydon) and have to say it was soooo responsive - about 700kg with a 270BHP supercharged 1.8. Was running with Brian Drought in his Elise and Exiges in his Ferrari 355 - good fun! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> The Ford GT is stunning to look at and pretty damned quick, but I'd rather have a Murcielago - that V12 sound! Jack
  10. QUOTE(AndyW)Jack, does your friend by any chance use the evo forum with the username exiges, real name david I think?His previous cars weren't a gunmetal 360 Spider, red 355 GTS, silver VX220, Blue GT3 and a Merc S600 (not all at the same time!) were they? Errr... what about the 2 x R34 Skylines, 2 x Porsche Boxsters, Supercharged Exige, Ford Capri (and a rather fast black GT2) Might be the same guy :wink: Jack
  11. Yes, but has the GT got rear headrests - No. In fact, has it got any headrooom - No style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> (friend warned me to duck when I closed the door for the first time). Rear visibility - in case someone behind is trying to overtake :wink: - No. ...... and as for noise - when the driver puts his foot down you can hardly here eachother for that lump in the engine bay behind style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":twisted:" border="0" alt="twisted.gif" /> Jack
  12. Have just taken these pictures of the Loop with a friend's new Ford (which arrived yesterday from USA). Hmmmm ..... tough choice. VW build quality or Ford's performance - GT went quite well ..... even nippier than the Loop border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
  13. Did someone call me? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Jack
  14. 4 years old and 42000 miles. Mrs J racking them on now with commute to new job. J
  15. Welcome to the club Benja. A GTi and an Exige - sounds plain greedy to me style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Must be a tough call on a Sunday morning which one to collect the papers in! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Good luck with getting the Loop fixed. Having seen the kit they hook the car up to in the VW workshop I'd have thought it would have diagnosed the problem. With my recent problem (engine speed sensor- G28) the computer identified the exact part of the engine electronics/ sensor that was faulty. J
