  1. Ok thanks! Anyone else with any thoughts on this????
  2. Yeah, I know that the performance wont increase much coz to do that obviously you would need a full system custom made, but i was just hoping that it'l look and sound ok and supply a bit more back pressure which is obviously missing at the mo! Im going to get it welded to the standard center pipe, but do you reckon that if i wanted to change it in a few months(when ive got a bit more money) i could move it to the middle somehow?
  3. Hi everyone...Currently my 1.4 16v Loop has no backbox... It fell Off on the motorway! So obviously im going to replace it, but rather than just putting a standard one back on I think ill put a performance one. Hopefully doing that should increase the performance of my car coz theres not much back pressure at the mo!! As im a poor student lol I havnt got much money but obviulsy want something that will do....ive found this one off the bay and was just wondering what people think!???? Thanks x
  4. Thanks guys, ill have a look. Ive searched around the site, i think a few ppl are having the same problems but the only solutions ive found are for people with no air con and GTI but ill try my best and let everyone kno if ive found a genious idea!!!!
  5. thanks, so u say this is only temp? Where are you going to put it after? There are lots of gaps in the engine bay for the feed to get cool air but then it is facing downwards(towards the ground)which is obviously limiting the flow of cool air. It just seems that all the ideal places ie facing to the front grill are covered with metal work ect
  6. Ive just put a k&N airfilter on my 1.4 (75bhp) loop. My boyfriend fitted it, he said the original pipe was going to the wheel arch, so the new air feed is just pointing downwards in a gap we found as there was no place it could go near the front grill.... Where have people put their feeds?? I cant find a good place, where it is at the mo prob isnt getting the best air. Also there is a horrible smell inside my car since putting it on..think this is from the oil breather? Whats the best thing to do with this? Thanks
  7. Hi guys, I am currently driving a standard 1.4 16v loop(75bhp). Howver a few months ago I was driving along the motor way and my backbox fell off!! I still havnt got it sorted, purely coz i havnt got round to it and to be honest it sounds awsome! I kno im being a bit naughty so I am going to buy a new performance exhaust(a stainless steel backbox)rather than a standard exhaust.... Im just wondering what other things I can do in the way of tuning (that isnt going to cost too much money) that would maybe incrase performance(she is seeming a bit slow). Some people said to me that having no exhaust would have decreased the performance due to there being no back pressure there what so ever. Any ideas? Any one done any thing? Thanks
  8. Hi everyone, this was my original thread. Id just like to say thanks to the people that have given some positive comments, but as a new member i cant believe how rude some people are. All i wanted was some help and firstly i got scrutinised for posting a thread and got told i should use the search engine...well sorry but i thought forums were about posting topics?? and no one was giving any positive thoughts, all negative. Anyway I think I am going to go ahead with my original idea, afterall no one would get anywhere in the world if new things wernt tried. Thanks to the people with the helpful/positive comments as thats why i signed up to this forum in the first place.
  9. I was going to run the turbo at very low pressure at first to see how it goes (under 1 bar) So im not sure if all the alterations will need to take place as the engine is going to get just a little extra boost. thanks
  10. Hiya, I was just browsing and came across your thread I see that ur putting a turbo on your 1.4 golf. Ive got a 1.4 16v lupo and have got a ko3 manifold for it, which I was going to use to replace the old one and stick a turbo on it!! People are telling me that its gona be really expensive, but I just thought id ask you to see what u need to change on the car ect ect??? Any help would be great! thanks
  11. Well actually I have just bought the manifold for £25, and someone I know can get a turbo for me for about £50.... So to be honest £75!!!!!! Not really breaking the bank account is it!!!!
  12. Hi everyone!! I have heard of someone that has done this and just wanted some opinions on it..... Ive been given a A 1998 AUDI A3 1.8 20V TURBO manifold with KO3 turbo fittings. I was thinking bout obviously taking out my old manifold, putting this one on and the attaching a turbo!!!! Any ideas?? anyone herd about someone doing it. Im a bit concerned that it may be a bit powerful for it ?(boost control?) Thanks guys !!
