  1. iv just had this problem, although my seats werent wet the rear carpets were sodden. it turned out to be the hose to the rear wiper. the lad i bought the car off has taken the wiper off but not disconnected the water supply. the water was leaking underneath the plastic trim onto my carpets. d'oh
  2. its only behind the driver seat that is wet tho....
  3. thanks i will try and get on the case this weekend. thanks for your help
  4. havent got a rear wiper and cant hear anything to suggest the pipe is still connected. under the back seats are dry too.
  5. its not a common thing them? my fella seems to thing it might be getting in under the wheel arch. its bugging me now, had loads of problems with the car
  6. if only it was that simple! no not been doing anything dodgy. its only been like that for about two weeks.
  7. the other day i noticed my car was steamed up quite a lot. after a mooch aronud i noticed the carpet behind the driver seat was wet. checked the plugs and they are fine. any one have any ideas? cheers
  8. this happened to me before christmas. lights on my dash started coming on a few days after this and the car really started playing up. turned out to be the alternator, it was sending too much power to the battery so it appeared to have loads of electrical faults. had a new alternator and things seem to be fine now!
  9. THATS THE ONE. YEAH TOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE WIRING, IT HAD SOME WORK DONE WHEN I GOT IT AND HASNT REALLY BEEN RIGHT SINCE. THE STEREO IS A REAL BODGE JOB, WIRED IN TO LIGHTING! AFTER CLOSE INSPECTION LAST NIGHT IT SEEMS IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED, LOOKS LIKE A NEW BONNET AND SOME DODGY PAINT JOBS ON A FEW PANNELS. BATTERY SEEMS TO GET REALLY HOT REALLY QUICKLY TOO WHICH IS WORRYING, I DONT REALLY WANT TO GO UP IN FLAMES.
  10. I've had my lupo gti for 2 months and have had so much trouble with it. its had a new battery, alternator and starter motor. about 5 weeks ago i was driving and the dash lights went out completely. then my air bag light came on followed by pretty much all the others. my headlights then started flashing before turning themselves off completely. the car died soon after. we changed the battery and things were fine for a week or two until it happened again. on tues night i started the car up to clear the inside screen which had quite a bit of moisture on it, the dash lights kept turning off but when i turned the fan on, there was a click under the bonnet, then the dash lights came back on, and stayed on until i turned the fan off. does anyone have any ideas what this could be? i bought the car off 'bigdave' he was a member on here. does anyone know if he had any problems with it? the bloke at the garage seems to think its a damage - repaired.

    hi there

i dont know who she is, do you?!
  12. oh no, i was driving to shrewsbury and strange things were happening to my car! my stereo was switching randomly on and off, every time i put my brakes on all the dash lights went off, at one point my headlights went off too, right in the middle of town. then they started flasing on and off, my airbag and ecu light went crazy flashing and something was beeping at me! it turned out my battery was going flat, in all my previous cars if the battery was flat, it just wouldnt start! has anyone else had this experience? i ended up having to try and bump start the car, which it wasnt having any of. so we pushed the car into the local pub and left it there, how heavy is a bloody lupo?! hopefully my car will still be there by the time i finish work and we can put a spanking new battery in it!

    hi there

yeah, it goes well but just spent 700 getting little things sorted on it. the amp had been wired straight to the fuse box and had melted a few wires, the starter motor was bent and touching the exhaust, and battery was about to go up in flames! not good
