  1. Managed a 4.9 to 60 with the TT but never did a proper 1/4 so not sure about that - initial acceleration was quick tho.
  2. There is a great pub for food not far up the road from Windrush, heading away from the M4 past windrush on your lft and keep going towards M40 (thats what signs say) the Pub is an old place on the left about 2 miles up the road. Is that helpful?
  3. Dan - dont know any TDi owners down their, but there is a Tyresmoke meet in Windsor once per month, and quite often a few Diesel drivers turn up there, it is possibel that someone might be able to identify the noise - best I can suggest I'm afraid.
  4. Audi have a good spare in the A2 - it is a tyre that when not inflated it colapses flat so it takes up less room - problem is it is five stud so not a direct fit - but very good idea. You finished those exams yet? How has it been this year?
  5. Sounds pretty much to me like a typical 'build em cheap and use crap components' VW issue to me - my TT had shed loads of dash pods replaced and yours obviously has developed a problem - should be covered under warernty tho.
  6. I never bothered - cant see it would make much difference.
  7. Thanks for that - looks like I need to start saving!!! Are there huge differences between the 1.4 60/75/100 bhp varients as they come from the factory - other than horse power?
  8. well it is the right location, miles from any housing, in run down 'clubbing' area of milton keynes near the ice rink - good place, out of main drag, but near enough to be viable.
  9. nah - no long locks for me, I'll stay with the No 1 gently trimmed look. Have been looking intot he feasibility of a club, but council in the local area are not in favour of that type of establishment.
  10. Yeah, well I have earnt a fortune in the last 5 years and have very little to show for it (apart from a couple of houses) so earning less is probably a good thing. As for the lap dance club, having issues with a licence for the venue.
  11. So achieving 150bhp from the 1.4 16v is quite possible then? How is this going to affect reliability? (I have no idea why I ask that, it isnt like VW audi build reliable cars these days is it). Could you give a guide € price for that work so I know what I am aiming for (once I find gainful employment again). Thanks.
  12. No luck at all. Is what I would love is a career change into the Automotive field so that I can work with stuff I love (either that or get a permit for my lap dance club idea).
  13. As the other thread went so far off topic lets start it again .. anything off topic on this thread and I'll get blue loop to delete it. Now my A2 is 1.4 16V with 75bhp - is this similar (same) power plant that the lupo has? If so (aimed at Eric) are you able to offer power gains for this engine similar to those you quote for the Lupo 1.4. If so could you gicve a quick rundown of options here. Cheers.
  14. Must say - I test drove a smart and found it cramped, and I am only 6'1ish and about 19stone, but found the drive pretty poor - still love the car though. DId you go to the concept show with the smart?
  15. Sorry mate - I'm at a wedding that weekend.
  16. Had you considered checking out Erics site above - Eric said why do you want a turbo, partly I think beccause last time I spoke with them they did offer revised management system, throtttle bodies, revised cams, lifters and followers, induction and exhaust - giving around 170bhp without the need for a turbo. Good reliable english company that works with the engine not just bolt ons.
  17. Yeah - why do you want a Turbo - the conversions a certain company offers look awesome - around 170bhp with no turbo or anything, just good old engine work.
  18. Hey dude - how you doing? 14" you say - problem axel had was not the size of the alloy, but the offset - the inside of the steel wheel snagged the brake calipers.
  19. When I was over in Belgium with Axel, he had a blow out and the foam was usless as it ripped the tyre and the foam had nothing to seal, may also have damaged tyrewall. Anyway, we got his car back to his place where he had a spare wheel from a Polo, there we discovered that the brake calipers are bigger than usual and the steel wheel wouldnt fit - so make sure if you get a spare then you need to ensure it fits!!!!!
  20. well actually as I am tone deaf the actual quality of a unit is fairly secodary to me because I wouldnt really notice the difference - so as long as it looks nice and has the features I want it'll do me fine.
  21. well ideally something that pays around the £750 ish per day or higher, but struggling at the moment so may have to take a cut. For the moment I could do project management, capacity maangement, it support that kind of stuff. The dyane is the exec version and as such were usually a single colour - mine is red the previous one was yellow.
  22. No - I still have the A2, will sell it if I cant get a job before end of the month.
  23. Dunno mate - been made redundent so am moving out and house sitting for my parents (they are abroad for a few months). So feeling very poor at the moment.
  24. I liek some of the Blaupunkt and Bekker Audio stuff, they are producing some high quality units now. Sony still make prettiest stuff tho.
  25. Well I haev dyane 6 actually - very similar - all same runnign gear, just different body. It is a 602cc flat 2 aircooled, 34bhp, top speed of 74mph, `0-60` in 24.9. 15" steel wheels as standard (forget the tyre profile off hand tho). One day I would love to give the car a Scooby flat 4 engine - that should be fun style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
