  1. a large section of the top coat of paint/laquer has come off the paintwork just on the rear quarter below the window which is upsetting to say the least!! Just wondered how many years VW cover paint and bodywork for under warranty or whether im gonna have to get it sorted myself? To be honest it looks like its had a previous sprayjob thats not been done properly!!
  2. For GTI sales figures wasnt it something like 300 a year will be produced so that should be around the 1200 mark shouldnt it?
  3. I think you'll find it looks like its screwed on but its not. give it a tug at the front and it will pop off. Nope mine is very much screwed into place.... it also says GTI and not 1.6 16v Has anyone else got the same cover as you? Mine says 1.6 16v but would look so much better with a GTI one!
  4. QUOTE(lupogtiboy)i'm getting the pair for £50!!! Staff rates!!!Dont suppose you fancy doing a group buy for all of us who havent yet bought some style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  5. QUOTE(Tigz)QUOTE(p88bel)its 20 percent the weight of original bonnet, its twin skinned carbon, underneaths identicle to original bonnet even got the holes for the clips for sound deadning, underneaths just jet blackSo its just a standard bonnet with a layer of carbon fibre over the top then? Or have they taken a mould of the standard bonnet, and bolted the skin to the steel frame work? Sorry for all the questions. Going off what hes said it weighs 20% of the original weight so it isnt just a carbon skin over original bonnet, its two layers of carbon over what i presume would be a carbon skeleton for support!!?
  6. Just saw a black GTi going past Manchester City's training ground about half hour ago! Anyone off here?
  7. There are a few out there. Heres a couple i found..... http://www.motorspeed.com/`cgi-bin`...de=SINGLE_WIPER http://www.passionmotorsport.co.uk/solewipers10.htm The second made by storm is probably the best and i think they do all sorts of different arm style like ones with the washer jet in the wiper arm etc But thats if you want to buy one or were you thinking of DIY?? im sure the bought kits will be pretty straight forward!
  8. QUOTE(Tigz) Thats one hell of a pic.Big enough to use as my screen saver! lol yeh i know :? how do i resize it? i thought the board automatically resizes avatars going from the post made about them???
  9. QUOTE(snoopstah)Flat battery. When you try and start the car, the starter motor draws too much power from the battery (even then it still can't get enough to turn), causing all power to be lost to the instrument panel. When you stop holding the key in the start position, power is restored to the instrument cluster, and it recalibrates itself (which is why you see the needles flicker). Either that or your starter motor has gone... but I'd guess your battery is low, especially with the alarm playing up. Yeh cheers snoop it is the battery after all called out VW warranty home assist and he got everything up and running again! And he also reminded me how much of a rare car it is when he told me he'd never seen one before style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  10. Update!!......Now i cant get into my car at all :x Fooking stupid thing!!! and the ******* alarm keeps going off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Just got into the car to go to uni put the key in and everything seems fine...all the check lights come on as usual but then when i turn the key the display dies (i.e number of miles etc dissapears off digi display) and nothing happens. Then when i turn the key back the needles on the rev counter and temp gauge etc just start to wobble and rattle :? Anyone had any similar problems or know what might be up???

  13. The other thing to do is look towards bike manufacturers they usually have some pretty decent colours to choose from
  14. Id say the best way would be to hire the carpet cleaner coz surely the stuff foam that you leave on would just be a deoderiser as your not removing the dirt just rubbing it more!!? :? Whereas the actual cleaner is basically a vacuum cleaner which puts clean water/detergent onto the upholstry and then sucks it back off thereby removing the dirt? :?:
  15. That colour you get Alfa's in would look cool, the kinda baby blue with a gold flip to it IMO
  16. Yeh thanks Kat that would be great, any ideas if he can do the mirror polishing bit too? £15 sounds a good deal but obviously i'll have to pay the premium for not being you style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> ...........maybe if i wear a blonde wig that might work (or not coz thats just a scary thought) lol
  17. cheers Crusoe i'll give them a call if i cant find anything in the yellow pages, if anyone has used anyone in particular and has a good review of them let me know.
  18. Ive just bought some alloys off ebay as mentioned in a previous post ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWN:IT ) and they are in need of some refurbishment.... first of all does anyone know of any good places in the North West preferably the manchester area who can do the job. Secondly how easy would it be to do the job myself and what would be needed? I plan to have the outer rim mirror polished with the centres remaining the same colour or being sprayed anthracite? Any advice much appreciated. Darren
  19. Yeh somebody please find out about this!!!!!!

  23. I know its been asked many times before and explained fully but im looking at a set of wheels for my GTi which are 6.5 x 15 with an offset of ET33 will they fit or stick out too much/not enough? :? Thanks
  24. Thats exactly it, they said to me when i bought mine if i bring it back to them for servicing then the MOT's will be free.......dont think i will though as ive got a mate who works for a VW specialist who can do all the services and MOT's for me much cheaper im sure!
