  1. Welcome to car spender anonymous! 😂 Everyone welcome....! I will get you some details on the ME unit, but it was quite easy to fit but I did think the 'helpline' wasn't very helpful.
  2. No all gone now. It is a hollow metal box with wheels. Once I get a chance i will get it to a weighbridge and get the final weight. I know it seriously lighter as when I refitted the engine, the stance look I had at the front was replaced by it looking like a 4x4!
  3. Your so right, but you know what it's like you spend and bit. Then a bit more. Then you stop telling the wife and hiding the boxes from eBay. Before I knew it I was so in the hole to give up and sell it as a unfinished project was a complete waste, might as well keep spending to get it finished. I would do it differently if I had to do it again. I made a lot of costly mistakes so it was a learning curve and you can't put a price on experience. What cars are you using as a daily or for the track?
  4. Should Dyno around 130, but it has been on a serious diet. I weighed it before at about 695kg. I haven't weighed it yet but I reckon I have lost over 150kgs! No original interior at all. All window mechs removed. Polycarbonate windows all round. Stainless tank. Buckets with harnesses. I mean the original seats weighed in at 27kgs each! My new ones are 8kgs. The seatbelt mechs were 9kgs each! Plus I removed all the wiring. Check the before and after pictures. The loom and what I threw away! To be honest I am so far in the hole regarding costs it is cheap to keep spending till it is finished. I lost count after the first 5k. 😂 That said a vast amount went on kitting out my garage with air compressors/welders and tool chests.
  5. Yes a road legal car that has a MOT. I cannot be arsed to low load it to the track each time.
  6. You haven't seen the half of it. It's been a year of working most weekends and lots of fabricating. Fingers crossed the eBay engine #2 (don't ask about the first one it still brings a year - broke a head stud putting it back together after a full strip down ☚ī¸)
  7. What it looks like at the moment.
  8. Motorsport nodiz pro V3 Full 3d system mapping with Bluetooth, laptop tuning and launch control! https://motorsport-electronics.co.uk/products/ignition-only-systems/nodiz-pro/
  9. It does use a standalone programmeable ignition system. The VW ECU and all the loom has gone. I had to rewire the car from the ground up. It was a total faf but totally worth it. Back fires can be fun...come on! Bramm bramm brammmmmm bang bang bang. Wicked.
  10. Right thanks to sausage and leading me to a VW part number, i can confirm that ALL 1.0 -> 1.4 models (Inc sport, non-sport and the rare FSI model) all used the same flywheel. The only difference is the GTI which I can only assume has a slightly larger diameter flywheel for more clutch plate surface area. It is also known as VW 032105270. Sausage you a star and hope this might help someone in the future.
  11. Wow, where did you get this info from? Either ways, it would appear from this document that the same VW part number is used for 1.4 75hp and 100hp. The only variation code is for the AUY engine which is the GTI. Let me check something....
  12. Ok so I have a sport 100bhp engine married up to a 1.4 75hp box. It had been converted to bike carbs but never been fired up yet, but here's the question. The bike kit wants a VR sensor but it appears I have a hall sensor which I can work around with resistors. My only concern is I left the standard sport flywheel on the engine before I mated the box and now I am thinking that the sensor mightīģŋīģŋīģŋīģŋīģŋīģŋ be too far away from the flywheel as the 75hp and 100hp might be different diameters. Can't tell as google searches returned nothing in terms of flywheel diametersīģŋ and I can't measure the flywheel since it is in the car. Does anyone know if the 1.4 75hp gearbox can be mounted to the sports engine WITHOUT changing the flywheel? I.E will the teeth and diameter configuration match up to get sensed by the 75hp crank sensor. Hope that makes sense. Any help would be appreciated as I really do not want to take the engine out again just to measure the flywheel!

  14. Note to everyone. I posted this post in March of 2017. It is now July 2018. This car is now in scrapyard heaven. I do not have any bits available for anyone.
  15. Suspension (coilover) was shot, but arms ok. Sub frame is good, some one bagged the doors which has locks. Repeaters yes. Take what you want. If the doors are not collected, the drivers mech is yours.
  16. Front section yes, but not the manifold. Does that work for you?
  17. I brought a non accident damaged, no rust 1.4s lupo as a donor car. Got what I needed and now it over to you. ALL ELECTRICS WORKING PERFECTLY! If anyone needs or wants any parts for free, let me know. Only condition you will need to collect, but hey its free.... Let me know.
  18. Been a while but little loopys has been gunning up and down the A1M covering some miles. Here she is now...
  19. Your spacing in picture for 'lupo' looks bang on to me. I might have a picture of mine before I took mine off to help, I just need to check. The badge is easiest to get off when you dental floss and brute force. Do not use a screwdriver. You would be surprised how well the sticky hold after 15 years!
  20. Lovely colour. Nice rims and dropped. it's lovely. Have you considered smoothing the bumpers?
  21. Well I used to do the lakeside and chelsea cruise back in the late 1990's. It would be fun to do it again. Off to Southend-on-Sea after?
  22. I know this tread is old now, but we should arrange a meet up?

    VW NEWBIE!

MarkyG, Put some pictures up and i will give you some ideas. Have a look at mine and see if that get the creative juices flowing http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/103013-my-project-loopy/ Steven
  24. So update time.....full body respray is now cut in and the wheels have rubber. 165/65 r14 stretched. It has offered me loads more room in the arches and so i can stance it and drop it low now. There are some things i need to sort out so its about 90% complete to where i want to be this side of autumn. Wheels need final sliver spray over and Polish up.... Coliovers need adjusting again and i need to lower it again....so please wait. It looks like a bogger at the moment. Next interior (winter 2016) and then engine (2017 sometime). But for now comments good or bad please. I really really really want to take it to a show and shine, so any help you can offer would be a blessing.
  25. Well polishing done....just for tom01997 Now for the colour and some rubber....
