  2. thanks for your help peeps. k got the flush in the post, picking oil and filter up from vw 2moro. when refilling with oil whats the process? like how much and stuff? do i measure the oil when cold or hot? and you think 30 mins is ok to let it drain fully or longer? thanks. update. Got the Oil and filter and Nut+Washer. All from VW at a whooping £27!!! awaiting the Engine Flush
  3. Hi. Whats the Best Oil for my X Lupo 1.4 S? Can you provide me with the exact oil i need want the best. when i had the vauxhall it was their own make semi synthetic i think. just not sure on the lupo. also would you recommend using a oil flush additive before replacing. also whats the oil filter p/n. thanks for your time in helping me out.
  4. thanks for your help. yeah i found you have to actually pay to use the parkers. as the free guide was poo. um i decided a fancied the polo tdi 1.4 in the end! bigger too, but still similar to the lupo. i wont be selling till March. so i can make sure i get the mot and Tax done. needed an idea so i can budget for the polo, time to save up! got new job with lots better ££! lol You think i could swap my aero wipers onto a 6n2 polo? i am impressed with diesles atm. mums got a 53 1.9 TDI drives so smooth and my uncle living with us has got 54 GT TDI Polo 130 So nice and Quick! Basically if you can give me an expected price for both a Trade in Value and a Selling on Autotrader value please.   7. hey All. i have been really dissapointed with the way my loop drives. Basically i always need to rev alot to make sure the car dont stall etc. Ive had a brand new clutch fitted as of late. but my problem still remains. The problem (As best as i can describe it) As soon as you get to the biting point of the clutch the car jerks into full gear mode. where as any other car/van i have driven you have a bit of play with the clutch bite. but my bite is like instant no clutch to full on clutch. Can you adjust the bite point range so you can have a small ammount of play to make gear changing and pulling away less jerky, and not so easy to stall (Stalls mainly when in first pulling away, always gotta get the revs up to pull off succesfully, but it sounds like an old lady reving the crap outta the engine lol.   9. Damn well pissed off. Clutch is now Perfect very light and nice action. exhaust is all done. all good in that respect.... but... Gears hard to engage! select! so annoyed now. had pedal box + brand new clutch fitted and its got to be the damn gearbox. Whats the damage this time gonna be? or anything i can do to fix the gears? thanks all. I have the worst luck with cars, grrrrr. Lupo
  10. Ah Sorry havent been on for a while. Have got myself Booked in for a new Clutch and new Flexi Pipe for £250 all in. does this sound resonable? does to me. thanks all.
  11. sorry mitch ive been booked in now with me local mechanic for the zaust. he also has examined my clutch and says nothing he can see is wrong. apart from the fact vw have set it so it does not clear. so he has adjusted it and nows its +75% better than before. no more crunching. gears can get a little stiff tho. is it worth draining the oil and putting new stuff in the gearbox? adjust the gear linkage? thanks
  12. thanks for the info brink. well cars back from vw for pedal box replacement. but to be honest i dont see hardly and difference, i still have the same problems. foot was fully down on clutch when i changed down a gear and you guest it. *crunch* gear box is still stiff and horrible. is it easy to adjust gear linkage on ya own? any guide anywhere? on a good note tho my indicator stalk had a rattle souns like a small screw was inside it. but now its gone! yay. thanks all
  13. @ Brink ah thanks. all info helps. cant remember the thread for the heater. but if only works on heater 4 i think it was matrix something had gone. soz. did you flexi pipe bit make a horibble vibrating noise when the engine goes from revved down to idle. and at mid revs @ lunalupi vw have had my lupo for the 2nd day now for just fixing my pedal box. they said they broke something when they was disasembling my car.... and wont get the part for a day... so cant check the power fluid level atm. if it is low anyone know waht to use to fill it up? part number of genuine stuff would be handy. thanks again all. p.s im stuck with a 56 plate 1.4 basic polo. its in worse shape than mine and is only done 8k. i want my lupoo!!!

  16. @ lunalupi (cool name) 1. forgot to mention. i blasted a can of carb cleaner a few months ago to clean it. made little difference tho. 4. yeah the meshy bend bit. as that a 1 piece bit so i would only need that? or do sensors and stuff go in that part? 5. yeah gears are hard to get into anyway. but thats cos pedal box has half broke (being replaced this wednesday =) but its always in 4th say if im just driving and i have my hand on the gear stick. if itake my foot off the gas then put on again it moves a lot. hard to explain. remembered another problem too. which i put in main post. thanks for ya help and suggestions.

  18. Ok. I am Starting to Hate my Lupo. Its all going wrong and all at once. if you have some spare time could you please help me out with a few problems i want to get done asap, it would be very much appreciated. Baring in mind my Pedal box is being replaced on Wednesday 12th. So if any of these symptoms are related please let me know. =) Here we go. 1. On Full lock (either left or right) at slow speed a annoying noise occurs and all the power is drained from the car (e.g lights dim) when this happens the engine tries to stall when in full lock position in slow speeds or even stationary position. and on many occastions it has stalled from this. any ideas? 2. Irritating creaking Noise from Back left of the lupo and either the drivers Door area or the Bost where the seatbelt is held up. 3. Heater fan only works on Settings 1,3 & 4 does not work on Setting 2 which is weird as i have read about just working on setting 4 only, but my problem seems unique. 4. I need my front part of my Exhaust Replaced (the part with the mesh grill part near the front of the car.) What is this part called and is this part all i will need to buy for my local mechanic to fit? as i can get the part on the cheap as i know someone who knows someone... not sure if this is the part where all the connectors go in or not. but i got a verbal quote from kwikfit for £250-300 5. When in 4th Gear. there is a hell of alot of movement from the gear stick from the engine. only in 4th tho. what can this be? 6. Passenger Door makes very loud lock noise when central locking (lock and unlock) the door. i thinks its the dead lock process that makes the loud noise. it makes a kind of loud clank then a 1/2 second loud buzz noise. have taken door cards off. but i dont want to pierce the plastic seal... or should i? Think thats it but im sure i have missed something. anyhow. im nooking for some cheapy alloys now. what ya think of these? think they would look nice with vw caps on. i want the 16's of these will they be a problem? 6.50 x 16 4x100 67.1 ET40 thanks for your time.   21. £15 ha! they quoted me £88 for the Cable. About the light problem. could vw have done it, as i noticed it was on in the evening of the day i picked it up. they have made my clutch very tight i know that for sure. Wanna Sell and get a TDI now. Hydraulic Clutch much nicer. Thanks Evo.
  22. thanks for the info mate. your pedal post is very infomative too. without that i would have probably got a new clutch without questions ask. so thanks for that. VW actually claimed a Heavy Clutch broke the pedal box. but i have done the clutch test just to be sure with the handbrake on and the car stalls so the clutch isn't slipping at all. Would you recommend to change the cable at least in this instance? when is best time change 1 of these? cars has 46k on clock 2000 reg. was just thinking if they are doing the pedal box it might be good to get it done if it needs be done. with the brake lights permantly on. i have inspected and found a broken white plastic tube thing on the carpet.... any idea? im guessing its from the brake pedal? Since i got the car back its not been running as usual. and its putting me of my lupo.... =( Thanks

Ok for an inspection of the Pedal Box would they have touched or removed anything around the pedals or wiring? i ask because since Thursday night (day i got car back from vw) my Brake lights have been constantly on! the brake pedal is higher than the others and i have to wedge the brake pedal about 2 inches higher than the others to make the brake lights go off! they are ringing me on monday about it. but its annoying me.
  24. actually gonna pester them to just replace the pedal box. and i will [/lie] tell them i will be back in a few months to have the clutch done[lie]
