  1. Imagine what happened when I just lowered my car and they srached my alu rim (only one...) while adjusting camber?
  2. Whoa!....Don't wanna know how much speed you loose with that....thing? The Stock GTI one is just so perfect, maybe I'll get one one day, there's a guy selling one with the complete hatch (and an alu hood!) because he can't find any shop that are able to "clean" the alu (you know, getting rid of the hole of the trunk opener and the pit from the VW sign). Just that I have no €'s left....grrrr!
  3. hm, I only know about the 1.4 16v 101 hp, as I told you, and there seems to be a difference in throttle response, the cable one being faster. The TDI's have all the drive by wire system, as the diesel itself can be dosed better (as it seems).
  4. Question: Does the GTI still have a cable for throttle or has it the thing called "`E-Gas`"? (Kinda of a poti)? I heard that the `E-Gas` ones are a bit slower in revving; talking about the 101 hp 1.4 Loop, that had a cable until MY 2001
  5. Yeah, something about that, because your car doesn't nosedive that much now, after lowering and stiffening; so more brake force can be applied to the rear axle.
  6. MiniDisc....sometimes I wish I had these style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> (less skipping probably than my `CD-player`) I like the new sony style (black panel), and they have a new mp3 player that will be coming out soon style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  7. Do you mean ESP? And don't forget that the brake power distribution between the front/rear axle has to be recalibrated too.
  8. Hm...if it's just for styling purposes, then lower the beast style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> But seriously: my coilovers are really hard, but I got used to it; and I got used also to the fact that I have to drive over speed bumps in 1st with no gas at all...because then, when you're outside the city, on a nice `B-Road`, hehe, you're the king style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> So it depends what kind of driving you prefer. Bye!
  9. I don't think that's true, because Xenons "only" have 35Watt, the halogen H4 55/60Watt, so I guess that Xenon works with the same cables. The guy who sold them to me had the original wiring diagram for the headlight connectors, the cables had the same "thickness" as the `non-xenon` ones style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> But there's still something I'm missing...or why aren't they working yet?......I'll go @ my dealer now andI'll ask them!
  10. Got the Xenons! But since 3 days I'm trying to figure out how they should be connected.....I hope shao's pics help me with this one! The idea of a GT TDI is nice, I would like to have the front grille (the GTI one) with an `all-red` (or yellow, as I've painted many things yellow...) TDI badge on it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  11. Hi shao! I think they look good, although they might seem a bit strange the first time one looks at them; but I like them! They look even better on the GTi than on the normal Lupos. Either this or the Arosa rear lights, let's see, because I can't stand my backlights anymore, especially afrer I've cracked the left one and repaired it with tape....
  12. You're right about the headlight washers, but as I have to pass my MOT in 2 year's time, I have plenty of time to do it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> My wish is to mod my body with GTI parts, but this will be very expensive.
  13. Well, I asked my dealer what they cost, and he ended up telling me that I would have to pay about `900-1000`€ only for the headlights........without the smaller ones! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> Now I'm getting them for 550€ plus the small ones style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> and they're new! Anyway, even if they weren't new and they're in good shape, I would take them.
  14. Poor gearbox, don't you think? And the tyres too...I guess that lots of smpke can be easily produced style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Next week I'll drive to Stuttgart to get my Xenon's style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> (Night driving is cool:D)
  15. Would be a sick 3 cylinder, wouldn't it? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  16. Hi forum (i'm back...) Right now, I still don't know where I should get my Lupo chipped....I probably will go somewhere in Germany, but there's such a big choice of tuners. I'm thinking of SKN or Nowack or Wendland, because they all do the chipping on the dyno...so if someone has an idea, please tell me! bye, Rudy
