  1. The voltage with the car off when it wouldn't start was 10.1 and when I had jump started it and it was running it was 14. I've taken the wire out of my amp and see what happens in the morning.
  2. Cheers, yeah that's my plan to strip the hub down and I have a home made press with a jack so all should be ok. Front right needs changing, there's so much play and makes a lovely squeak turning right, should do both side while I'm at it.
  3. You can get hub/bearing pullers from eBay cheapest ones are under a tenner. I'm not going to pay that amount of money for a garage to do it, that probably are going to do it the same way.. Not every garage I've been to have hydraulic presses for wheel bearings but they manage to do it. I will attempt to do it myself, if it works I've saved the extortionate £400 to change some wheel bearings and if not I'm back where I started. Dblock if you could find out what you used, that'd be great.
  4. Ok brilliant, I will measure it tomorrow. I don't know how old it is, would it say on it? My amp has a blue light when ignition is on and that goes off when the keys out so I assume so.

  8. would I measure that with a multi meter and what should it read? But Halford is about 45 minutes from me and if I've driven that distance it would show charged anyway wouldn't it? Thanks.
  9. My battery keeps going flat in a very short space of time. I wanna know if it could be something else could be the problem before I buy a new battery. Today I drove the car to work at 8.50 the car was parked from a 30 minute journey. At 2pm I drove 5 minutes to the shop and back. At 5pm I tried to start up and got nothing.. Not even a turn over just a quiet electrical wine. I leave nothing on such as lights or radio. Just a new battery needed? I have a converted gti lupo (not sure if the battery was upgraded) and I have two subs with amp. What battery will I need to get if this is the problem.

  14. I saw a silver GTI in Hutton this evening followed him to his road... (a bit creepy) It was 'Y' Reg and had a white oval shape sticker on the back.. anyone know who this is??
  15. Skezza: Yes it was wired to both, left and right if I wired it to one of them it would only flash the left side or right side which would be ridiculous. That would make a load more sense to have two wires! but sadly there is only one.. Aahh brilliant, sounds like we're getting somewhere. So you are unable to do this with the Lupo specifically! What would I have to wire the pulse from the box to then to get them to flash if I cant use the hazard relay as a bridge. If I found a wire that comes from the CL box that has the same pulse as the one that is 'designated' for the flash and wired that to the left side and the 'designated' flash to the right side that should work in theory, shouldn't it?
  16. I'm looking at spraying some parts with a gun and compressor after getting a quote of £700 to paint my bonnet, wings and bumper however I can't find anywhere that sells the paint! Where would I get the paint? What else would I need? (thinners, lacquer ) Thanks!
  17. According to the diagram with the kit it is just one wire that will make the hazards flash. This is one if the wires that comes the box/relay.
  18. What do mean by relays? I've only connected two wires to the switch for left and right side hazards to flash. How would I would I only wire it to the off side when it is a single wire? Yes I know it's the box sends the pulse, thanks.
  19. I recently fitted a universal central locking kit and wired up hazards flash to when locked and unlocked. I wired the pulse from the kit to the left side and right side wires in the hazard button on the dash. Flashing was working fine on locking and unlocking. However when I used my indicators the fuse blew and neither direction would come on but the hazards were still woworking. What would cause this and what would I need to wore the pulse to, so it doesn't blow the indicators. Probably makes no sense but any help would be lovely!

  21. Are g60 brake discs the same as normal discs as fitting I concerned? Or are there adaptations that need to be made.
