one for sale in Cardiff on Gumtree http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/seat-arosa-diesel/1076511495 asking £900
-
just fitted a replacement lock, it took about 45 mins but the central locking is still down, I could have asked the local stealer to recode it but 2 keys aren't so bad
-
are these still available do they come ready coloured or will you need to have them sprayed, need one sides worth in "taftgrun"
-
your local dealer can recode the new lock to fit your old key
-
There's one on Gumtree in the Christchurch area, Dorset I think
-
You can buy an entire lock for £15 on e-bay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230942878830
I've just ordered another one for a drivers door on sons green Lupo, same symptoms as you hoping that it'll cure the central locking fault too
-
the diagnosis is a faulty brake light switch and a clogged EGR valve
-
it's recently had a new pedal box and cable but the EPC light was on before this was fitted, pressing the brake pedal makes no difference to the engine revs and the car runs and pulls well. There was a loose lead by the alternator which when connected lit the battery warning light, but I guess that's just another fault that needs resolving. Thanks everyone, I'll see an auto electrician this pm
-
Apologies for the double tap, I've put this in the Arosa section too as my car is a Arosa. It's a 1.4 16v Sport, tried switching it off but that doesn't work what's my next step, the car is from 2001 and has done 120k
-
Hi the EPC light is on in my Arosa 16v Sport, any ideas on rectifying this, it won't just switch off as I've tried this already
-
Thanks, I disconnected the battery and squirted in some carb cleaner seems to have resolved it but not sure which of the 2 methods was the right one
-
An odd problem, engine in my Lupo 1 litre seems to be 2,000 revs to high, tick over shows up as 2,250-2500 and rev counter drops down to 2k when switched off but doesn't drop any further, even with the key removed, any ideas, instrument failure or an engine management issue. The display lights up normally and no warning lights show with the engine running, its just passed its MOT too so no emissions issues either.

new hub carriers and I think the callipers are different too, you'll get both from a '88 on 16v Mk2 Golf or if someone's breaking a Sport
-
the Sport has bigger front discs and it also has rear discs and these are a hugely better set up than in the 75bhp car bear in mind you will have 25% more power
-
is this possible and if so is it simple; a question of a chip or traditional like k&n filters and free flow exhausts
-
you need hub carriers and matching calipers if you want to fit the larger discs
-
check you gearbox oil level too, a low oil level can cause this
-
Similar situation to my Arosa Sport, I bought it cheaply because it is internally and externally mint but despite having replaced the pedal box & clutch cable the gear change is at the limit of the clutch travel so my guess I need to replace the clutch. It will be worth it.
-
I like it, & it can give a youthful and arty feel to a tired interior
-
passenger door strap has snapped on my sons Lupo, is there a cheap repair option, how do I put pictures on to show the damaged area?
-
Thanks, but Durham well worth a visit as it is, is too far away, I think I need to investigate linkages, gear cables etc before I do a swap
-
will a sweet changing 5 speed box from a 998cc baby Lupo fit into my Arosa 16v Sport whose own box has seen better times but still works, or should I devote my time to fixing the 16vs g/box instead
-
I bought a Lupo 1.0 for my son last year then a 1.4 75bhp one for him [following a not his fault bump.] I drove a 1.4 sport about a month ago, liked it so much bought myself an Arosa Sort 1.4 16v last week, its having a new pedal box fitted so I'll keep on posting till its up and running.
Cambelt change
in Volkswagen Lupo
Posted
I think the recommended change is 30k, what is the real life experience of owners on this, do they snap. I write as some one who has owned perhaps two dozen VWs mainly Mk 1 & 2 Golfs and Scirocco's but also as someone who has never ever had a belt snap.
