  1. well i like it, i did a few bits in my old mk3 golf but only done this so far on the lupo... will do more when i get a spare afternoon
  2. how do u no which ones look good or not? is it obvious? yeah didnt really fancy buying 16 of them, expensive
  3. what is jailbaity?! dare i ask? haha you would come all the way down to kent from durham?! crazyness, i wouldnt even travel that far for ashton kutcher. actually im lying, i would!
  4. i wudnt be able to do that myself, i can do service stuff but taking the sump off and 'poking around' is a bit too much. Thanks for the constructive criticism Defcon5! lol
  5. is yours as bad as this? this is my car. Danyutz so did changing the tappets solve the noise on your friends car?
  6. such a shame as yours is lovely Danyutz, how much have you lowered yours by? sitting nice. i have tried an oil change and filter and is was flushed with an additive to clean it out, the garage done it though so not sure which one they used. he said sometimes it helps, other times it can make it worse but luckily i dont think it did it any harm. my friend said he changed his tappets in his opel manta and it made the car drive like a new one and he said it was the best thing he ever did. so perhaps it is worth doing. its sad people think its knackered. i want it to live on forever haha
  7. so, my little 1.4 16v has very loud tappets.... its kinda getting on my nerves because it makes it sound tired and old when i know its better than that. i have 3 options really, 1) change the tappets but the parts alone are £130ish 2) get a recon cylinder head which ive found for £120 or 3) just leave it alone, its got 89k miles on it, it does good on petrol, and not giving me any problems other than the noise. what do you think? not sure if its worth doing it as obv its about £200 jobby thanks
  8. wow that was cheap then, lucky. there was one on ebay for £400 last week, black too. was too far from me so i got my 1.4 E instead
  9. oh my lord doesnt sound good at all! im no mechanic either but think you need to get it looked at! hope it can be saved
  10. that looks bloody awesome!! Dammit, why cant i have a useful boyfriend!? lol
  11. wow not seen wheels done before, you got any pics?
  12. my friend is hydro dipping stuff but i dont really want to take the whole car apart. I was actually thinking perhaps blue/black/white camoflage style on the roof or bonnet or i found some nice black with grey/white skulls n roses which was cool. so if i was to put vinyl on the roof in a bonnet bra style to see what it looks like would it damage the paint it i wanted to peel it off?
  13. hi again, loving this site so far, nice to get opinions from other Lupo owners and read up on the old posts. I sold my baby at Xmas, my mk3 golf cabrio. it wasnt really very practical, and was costing a fair bit to run it, big mistake though, missing it loads :-( so anyway, my replacement is my little lupo which is hopefully going to be a bit more economical and is proving to be a fun little car so ive decided to give it a little make over Michelle Style! Just an idea of what that is.... sticker bombing and vinyl wrapping i know is very much love or hate but i love it and wanted to do something to the lupo.... started with this! now im thinking while im saving for wheels i want to do something else, for people who are in to vinyl do you think the roof would look good wrapped or maybe the bonnet? or perhaps i should be a bit more subtle and do the front panel below the grille or just a corner of the wing, i really cant decide. I know its about what I like as its my car but I want people to like it too :-) Any ideas welcome!
  14. i suspected the coil but wouldnt that come up on vagcom? sorry im used to the old cars mk1/2 golfs i have no idea about these new modern electrical engines! lol
  15. hi all, my little lupo 1.4 16v drives lovely except is randomly cuts out, if im driving along it feels like it loses power, the battery light come on for a split second and the motion of the engine fires it up again like a jump start. if im at traffic lights it just cuts out, battery light comes on. I plugged it in to vag com today and all that was showing was a coolant temperature sensor. Any ideas? im stumped. Thanks
