  1. Does removing the MAF sensor make a difference? I removed mine to test why mine was down on power. No matter what the engine not stayed the same with the MAF sensor in or out. I'd be interested to hear how yours responds.
  2. I'll give it a shot. Cars been a bit poo lately. Well down on power. It's hard to diagnose, think I need a trip to the garage
  3. Could there be any leaks around the EGR blanking plate? Maybe you knocked the MAF sensor a few times when you changed the cambelt and it broke, iv'e heard these are fragile.
  4. I'm hearing a whooing noise after i let of the accelerator, too. I think it's the turbo. Could it be related? Iv'e been low on power lately, aswell.
  5. What MPG are you guys getting, then? I'm interested in your figures: 35MPH in 5th (Alot of flat roads around here) 55MPH 70MPH Also, why the heck does my temp never raise above 82 degrees?! Even in the summer. Iv'e looked all over for a better thermostat but can't find one for the tdi. Are they just generic or something?
  6. Oh crud. Might just leave it, then. Any idea where to start when checking for the wiring? Is there also maybe a fuse I coulb be checking or would a fuse be for the entire cluster? thus ruling it out.
  7. Do you know how difficult it would be to get to the panel and change the bulb?
  8. Yeah, it was working at least 2 months ago. Never noticed it go out. Went to trade it in for an integra type R yesterday and the salesman spotted it! Iv'e hooked it up to vagcom and no errors reported so luckily nothing major is happening without me knowing!
  9. Typical, my engine management light no longer works. How difficult is it to replace the bulb?
  10. Just an update. I have noticed a fuel leak from the fuel filter. I think the original clips which clamp the hoses are a little corroded. I'm going to get new jubilee clips for the hose and see if that helps. If not I think i'll put it down to the BG244k. Maybe it cleaned the fuel lines a bit tooooo well and removed some deposits which were necessary to the integrity of the connections :/
  11. I tried the original kit which is not bi-xenon. This works fine and fits too. The arosa MK2 has separate main beam so I didn't need it. I should have researched better lol. Nevermind. This kit is far too big: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200721068287?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 This is the one that works, however the bulb doesn't fit as nicely as I would like it to. I'm going to try again tomorrow. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310373913615?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I still don't know a lot about bulbs but I think H7 is the size needed for the arosa MK2. Cheers for the advice anyways, mate. I'll let you know if I manage to get it sorted properly with the bulb sitting snug.
  12. I bought those HID's you recommended. They don't appear to fit. They won't fit in the socket as the metal head on the bulb is too big. The base appears alot bigger aswell. Do you have any ideas? I've sanded down the entrance to my headlight so this fits in. Only thing now appears to be making the cover fit over the back of the headlight. I think I might need to drill some holes.
  13. Do you know if these will work on a Arosa mk2, mate? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XENON-HID-CONVERSION-KIT-H7-8000K-/310373913615?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4843ba140f
  14. I ended up buying these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-Expert-21932-40-Piece-Tx-Star/dp/B0001K9R6W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383698599&sr=8-1&keywords=21932 Loo exactly the same as machine mart. Hope they last a while Cheers for the advice guys, I'd have never have found these bolts!
  15. I'm not sure on the size of the bolts for the cylinder head. Does anybody happen to know?
  16. Are they any of these? http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/search/filter/ribe+sockets/type/any/page/1 I'm not too sure which to get. They all appear to be the same
  17. Cheers, but I can't find them on the website. Do you have a link or a product code or something?
  18. I ended up getting this from costco, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alloy-Car-Trolley-Jack-Quick-Lift-1-8-Ton-Arcan-Low-Entry-Aluminium-/171134743463 I need a bloody jack to lift this thing! It soooo heavy. Looks very durable though and could probably flip my car on full lift lol.
  19. Hi, i'm looking to expand my toolbox. I have an arosa I am breaking down. Looking at the cylinder head bolts I don't seem to have anything that fits (Im guessing there are other special bolts that may need specific sockets aswell). Is there a special set I can buy which will work on all VAG cars or something, or do each cars have different bolts? So far I have found these on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BERGEN-6pc-3-8-1-2-Drive-Spline-XZN-Socket-Bit-Set-BMW-Mercedes-Volkswagen-VW-/271284012358?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3f29c98546
  20. That is great. I cannot find the mounts on ebay. Is it as easy as typing 'transmission mounts arosa tdi' I'll contact him now.
  21. Ahh cheers mate. I guess I couldn't use the mounts from a one litre arosa? lol
  22. Thanks for that, mate. Do you have any idea where to get the mounts? Iv'e had a look on ebay and cant find them
  23. I would like to replace the mounts myself. Iv'e seen a few youtube videos and think I can take on the task haha. Does anybody know where the engine/transmission mounts are located on the tdi? My car is shaking at idle and is getting slowly worse.
  24. Mine makes the noise when I turn the ignition after its been sat overnight for some time. Mine has been remapped and has always made the noise regardless.
