  1. I see, I got a retest about an hour after the incident, jacked it up until I get my arches sorted just wanted to know where I stand if I get pulled for it again, I need to be confident it'll never rub regardless of the load in it I guess I was also surprised by this not a word was mentioned haha I can honestly say perfectly normally, very rarely do I drive like an idiot, what with it being a 1litre and all that
  2. So today I was pulled for the first time and handed a pg9 and had to have a MOT retest. The reasons for this was about arch clearance, I'm running 8j banded g60's (so et10) obviously quite pokey, my arches have been rolled flat, 165/50 nankangs plently of stretch so the tread is in the arch I am running fk highsports with custom rear springs, the clearance on the rear is obviously minimal, so I don't totally disagree here (which some flaring will hopefully remedy) My query was on further inspection of the car he starting to become ambiguous, such as when I put my front wheels on full lock, there was definitely clearance but he explained if the car was fully laiden there wouldn't be any clearance, but surely thats irrelevant as it wasn't fully laiden at the time and he should only be inspecting what he can see? How much clearance is neccessary to be deemed road worthy?
  3. I use NS2s's, never had a problem with them dry or wet. Driving a 1 litre can only push them so hard. I like the look of the rim protector on a stretched nankang personally, Although I agree with ross I think for the little extra cash the Potenza's are usually worth it
  4. Where abouts in Nottingham you based mate? Hopefully see you at some local meets in the future
  5. Look top class, modest with perfect size tyres

  11. Hi guys, Wondering if anything can help me, looking for somebody to change the centers(+ center caps) of my g60s to soft blue, and the out lip white as trying to think of a spray job for after they've been banded, and dont think i've seen this on a soft blue lupo before! sorry they aren't the best pics, Please also suggest any alternative colour you think'd look good, looking at all possibilities at the moment (Similar to these except soft blue instead of brown) Appreciate any help! Jack
  12. The hole on the right looks like it would take a connects2 box 230859205737 (this isn't the changer I ordered but i'm assuming it'll be the same)
  13. Hi Rob thanks for the reply, i'm in the same boat as the cd changer I ordered hasn't arrived yet and i've never seen the rear of one of these cd changers, I shall find out soon when the stereo arrives but this has been bugging me.. From what you've said tho it sounds like theres a good possibility it could work Anybody else experienced this before?
  14. Hi guys, I've ordered a gamme headunit + single din vw cd player off ebay, and also a connects 2 box to plug my iPhone in, but have read different things as too wether of not the connects2 is able to be used with the single cd changer. I know it cannot be used with the 6cd changer, but have searched the forums and can't find a definitive answer if a connects 2 box (250873778914) can be used with the single cd changer? help is much appretiated! Jack

  19. Good evening all, Been around the forums for a few weeks now but haven't had chance to introduce myself! Recently purchased a 1.0E Soft blue lupo, paid just under 1700 from a car supermarket in stockport. She has 1 previous owner, 49k on the clock with a full service history and is in pretty tidy condition, so I was happy with the price tag. I am a 17 year old student, hence the loop being my first car Currently unable to drive it as I haven't passed my test yet Although being unable to drive her has granted me serious polishing time, swings and roundabouts! Will be going to a few local meets soon after passing (Derby Dubs etc) and hopefully some meets I've been reading about on here. Will also be starting a members car thread when i've got some pictures! Jack
  20. Hi there, I am looking to install a sub/amp/headunit in a couple of weeks when I get paid, but just spotted this "aux adapter" on ebay which I might buy temporarily. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aux-adapter-car-radio-for-iPod-MP3-Player-for-Original-radios-VW-Delta-Beta-/380465411471?pt=UK_Computing_Sound_Vision_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item589581758f At the bottom of the listing it states it works with beta and gamma radios (my 02 lupo has a beta radio) but just wanteed to double check with you guys, would the sound quality be decent? Cheers Jack
  21. I considered it ash but I don't know anybody I can borrow a roller off, and they're £100+ on ebay so why not let the professionals do it Unless you mean scaffold/rubber mallets/jack techniques which scare me somewhat Cheers for the recommendation Marcus, might considered stylehaus once i've passed my test! Anybody heard of the work quality of 'body and tuning' based in mansfield? (specifically arch rolling- been quoted £25 per arch depending on liners etc)
  22. Thanks for the reply mate I think ill get a quote from arch enemy, heard good things about them. Would i also be possible to run a 175/50 on the 8j rear and a 165/50 on the 7j front? This would obviously give the front a little more stretch as theree is hardly any on 175's. What is the general opinion on stretching the front, is handling etc affected at all?
  23. Hi, I am planning to buy a set of FK high sport coil overs and and set of 15" alloys. I want to fit an 8j et 20 on the rear and a 7j et15 on the front, with 175/50 tyres all round (probably Hankook) Im hoping to lower so that the arch sits about 1/2" to an inch above the tyre (apologize I don't know the size of drop in mm ), hopefully to avoid speedbump assle, My question is will the arch/s need to be rolled? If so would it just be rear, or front aswell? Please be gentle on any ignorance-im new to this moding game Any help is much appreciated, Jack.
